Aaron Siskind

Siskind was an American photographer, he was born on

December 4,1903 in New York. Aaron graduated from
the city college of New York in 1926 he also taught high
school English. Photography became interesting to him
in 1930, two years later Siskind joined a group of
documentary photographers of the film. In the early
1940s he left the photo league and connected with the
members of the members of the new york of abstract
expressionism. He made photographs of close-up details
of painted walls, pavement, rocks and lava flows, and
cracked peeling paint on weathered surfaces. He was
given a camera as a wedding gift. Siskind continued
making photography until his death on February 8,1991
died of a stroke at age 87 in Providence, Rhode Island.
