One of the four values in Filipino Drama and Film by Nicanor Tiongson entitled" Mabuti ang

Inaapi". It talks about the Filipino being abused. They know as the "underdog" which means
"talunan". They think Filipino is weak so that they thought that they are easy to defeat. But they
didn't know that in the end, underdog will achieve the victory. In the text, Filipinos accept all
sufferings. Even if the suffering is unjustly imposed on them by foreign or local oppressors. They
treat them without equality . During the American regime, the Spanish zarzuela and drama that
were indiginized by local playwrights as well as romantic short stories and novels by Filipinos
usually for heroine, blushing rural maids, utusan, cabaret girls, labanderas, ti deras of
sampaguitas or kakanins who were bounded by various relentless furies represented by abject
poverty rich donyas, evil madrastas, malicous mother-in-law and ugly but well dressed step
sisters. But in the end of the story, the weak one will achieve the happiness. But Jesus Christ
sacrifice himself just to save the people who have sins through sinakulo. But why is it they didn't
appreciate the effort of Jesus Christ. They continue doing sins. They continue abusing the
Filipinos by treating them differently. They create a big barrier between them. Jesus Christ
promise the kingdom of heaven to all those who suffered and prosecuted. The one who will
achieve the victory are the people who have a good heart and humble. God created a good
house to them and that is the heaven.

In the narrative " Mabuti ang Inaapi" shows that Filipinos have been consistently abused. It
shows that the underdog will always be the hero. Filipino only experienced difficulty in first but
because of their hard work, it leads to success. This incident always happen in our world . They
didn't give equality to others . Wealthy people treat the poor ones like they slave. They didn't
think that God created us equally. In the story onf Cinderella , she was being abused by her two
step sisters and mother. They treat her like a beggar, slave, and follower. It could also happen to
us. When we are celebrating our Reunion, we are very different from them because we are
Muslims and came from poor family. We didn't have much interaction between our cousins and
relatives . They think that we are just a loser and a low class. But that didn't stop us from loving
them even though they didn't love us back. So, we should watch the movies for us to know
what happen to our world and to our fellow Filipino. We should change this problem by loving
each other and giving equality to all people. Because God create us equal and we should treat
each other equally.
