INTRO

In the past few decades there has been a revolution in computing and
communications, and
all indications are that technological progress and use of information technology
will continue
at a rapid pace. The processing power of microchips is doubling every 18 months.
Today, emerging technologies are having wide-ranging impacts across numerous
domains of our society.
The current presentation is to show on one hand, the emerging technologies and
analyse their impact on our society on the other.

The latest technology headlines, gadget and smartphone trends, and insights
from tech industry are smartphones, tablets, personal digital assistants,
PlayStation 5 with interactive controllers,
Chip and PIN readers, etc.

I-1. Robotics
Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction,
operation, and application of robots,
as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information
processing.
These technologies deal with automated machines that can take the place of humans
in dangerous environments or manufacturing processes.

I-2. Artificial Intelligence

A artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is
intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence
displayed by humans.
The traditional problems (or goals) of AI research include reasoning, knowledge
representation, planning, learning, natural language processing, perception and the
ability to move and manipulate objects.

I-3. Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology (sometimes shortened to nanotech) is the manipulation of matter on
an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale.
A more generalized description of nanotechnology was subsequently established by
the National Nanotechnology Initiative,
which defines nanotechnology as the manipulation of matter with at least one
dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers.

I-4. 5G Telecommunications
5G is the term used to describe the next-generation of mobile networks beyond 4G
mobile networks.
5G has better coverage area and high data rate at the edge of the cell. It has low
battery consumption.
With 5G, you'll see exponentially faster download and upload speeds. The time it
takes devices to communicate with each other wireless networks
will also drastically decrease.

One important way in which technology is affecting work is by reducing the
importance of distance. People could work today via email, webconference and
students via elearning.
E-commerce is very effective at reducing the costs of attracting new customers,
because advertising is typically cheaper than for other media and more targeted

increased costs. Many people continue to loose their jobs due to automatisation of
business process.

enhance our intellectual and physical abilities.

The ongoing computing and communications revolution has numerous economic and
social impacts on modern society and requires serious social science investigation
in order to manage
its risks and dangers. Decisions have to be taken carefully. Many choices being
made now will be costly or difficult to modify in the future.
