According to legend, the village of Kolomenskoye was founded
by residents of the city of Kolomna, who fled from Baty, who burned down their city in 1237. In 1339, the great tsar Ivan Kalita mentioned the village in his will as his property. Today it is a museum-reserve that organizes wonderful excursions.
At the beginning of the tour On Lip Alley you will approach a
picturesque four-tiered structure with a stone tent. These are the Front, or Palace Gate, which served as the entrance of the royal family and the tall sits to the Sovereign's yard. The front gate was built opposite the Church of the Ascension in 1672- 1673. The next important building is the Summer ceremonial residence of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. Unfortunately, to this day the grandiose monument, an outstanding work of Russian wooden architecture of the 17th century, has not survived. It lasted about 100 years and was recreated two centuries later, in 2010. This complex of buildings really looks great. And the fact that the estate is wooden, I think it is most associated with Russian culture and architecture. I also think it is necessary to tell about the church of Our Lady of Kazan built in 1651 – 1671. The temple is located in a picturesque place among apple orchards and flowers. Its snow-white appearance with bright blue as the sky, domes with stars mesmerizing.
These are just some of the buildings you can see if you visit a tour of Kolomenskoye. I think everyone should do it. Because it's not just beautiful buildings, it's our story.
