5 Patterson road

The Patterson road runs along a small stretch bordering bear creek park between highway 6 and
Aldredge Road and is the perfect place to kick off this paranormal countdown the area’s surrounded
by a frightening local legend it said that if you park your car on the bridge at night turn off the lights
engine and wait you’ll see and hear ghostly civil war soldiers from the nearby battlefield tapping on
the window also reported arad sounds full-bodied apparitions wandering the darkness and orbs
and photographs

4. The rice lofts

The rice lofts formerly the rice hotel was built in 1913 and has hosted many notable names
throughout history employees and guests throughout the years have reported many different
paranormal occurrences including abnormal cold spots on hot days disembodied whispers and
other worldly globes of light floating throughout the halls thought to be a spirit holding some kind of
candle or lantern doors have been known to shake violently and the spirit of a dancer can be seen
doing her final jig on the roof at night

3. The Julia Ideson library

The Julia Idison library was built in 1926 and is said to be haunted by the former caretaker Jacob
Kramer who was found dead here in 1936 Jacob was found on classical music and many have
reported hearing the sweet sounds of a phantom violin in the air . Jacob is not alone however in life
he was never far from his trusty dog and it said that even death couldn’t separate them many have
reported along with the music the soft sound of canine nails scratching across the old floors

2 The Esperson buildings

the Esperson buildings were built in the early 20th century by Melly Esperson for herself and her
husband Niels Mele passed in 1945 but it’s rumored her spirit never moved on staff and guests report
disembodied footsteps voices from empty rooms the feeling of being closely watched and door
slamming so hard they startle all who are near. The elevator is said to have a mind of its own and
move sporadically as well as freezing in certain places leaving passengers trapped

1 The Elder Street Loft

the elder street lofts were built in 1924 on a plot of land used as a cemetery in the 1800s it acted as
the Jefferson Davis hospital for a time and there were multiple deaths on the premises staff
visitors and residents throughout the years have reported a wide range of supernatural encounters
including shadow figures moving about the halls ghostly doctors and nurses and the spirits of men in
garb from the civil war on multiple occasions residents of the lofts have reported smelling sanitizing
solution from hospitals and ghostly moans and whispers have been heard emanating from empty
rooms perhaps the most disturbing local legends surrounding this building is the estimated 3000 body
is still buried beneath the lofts with the overwhelming number of reports coming from this creepy
