“Mountains and Seas, The Hope is Green and Blue

Benefits of tire recycling Tire recycling are one of the great ones. It is a project with a specific
mission. Developing it requires the AWARENESS, LEARNING, EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENTAL
RESPONSIBILITY, and MANAGEMENT, especially to go into practice with much LOVE of a subject
that requires IMMEDIATE ACTION. For this campaign two specific situations have been taken on
the island such as: -Reduction, reuse and recycling of plastic, cans, cardboard among other
materials. - The sewage and rotten waters generated by the decomposition of the algae that reach
the beaches of SAN LUIS and that happens every season, which in turn requires immediate action
such as the plastic problem. For which it is an imminent priority, if not urgent, the operation of
industrial plants that help solve the problem in part of the excess of plastic on the island. And for
the beaches of San Luis, the solutions are the use of meshes along the periphery and geography of
this part of the island Awareness of all citizens, authorities, civic, military, ecclesiastical and the
general population is required. In addition to the state and the island government financing what
is necessary and urgent as are the reduction and recycling plants of plastic and other materials.
Give seminars, conferences, workshops to children, youth, university students, authorities in
general for awareness, practices. Campaigns to reduce and recycle plastic and its impact on our
Environment. The excessive consumption of plastic has reached a limit, every day we watch videos
around the world with beaches contaminated with garbage and animals suffering the
consequences, which has generated a series of actions to reduce the use of polluting materials,
creating alternatives and recycling centers We have to keep in mind that the actions we decide to
take are a pro or against in our future, so it is important that each of us contribute to reduce,
recycle and reuse.

The importance of learning to recycle the amount of waste generated by the inhabitants of the
Earth does not stop growing, every day we produce millions of tons of garbage of all kinds with
which we pollute our planet. To avoid, as far as possible, that invasion of garbage is vital to learn
to recycle because recycling is one of the best options to reduce the amount of waste that goes to
landfills. By recycling you can get a new utility to a large amount of waste, it is important not to
throw away the plastic, glass, cans, briks, paper, wood, etc., because all these products can be
recycled and converted into others We can use again.

REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE. When learning to recycle, we must keep in mind the three "R": REDUCE,
REUSE AND RECYCLE. REDUCE: A good way to collaborate with the care of the environment is to
reduce the amount of waste we produce. How to do it? Buy bottles instead of cans, products with
the least amount of packaging, rechargeable batteries, use a "multi-use" cleaner or
even make our own cleaners with natural products and that we usually have in our kitchen and
very important to reduce the amount of plastic we use. REUSE: On many occasions we discard
products that may still be useful. We can donate them so that someone can continue using them
or maybe convert them and give them a new utility. We can also buy many things in second-hand
stores. With plastic and other materials we can reuse it to make beautiful figures of ornament,
woodwork, sculptures, dishes, aquariums, furniture, even compact the plastic added with other
materials to make houses, and other types of housing. The question is very simple. Why do we
produce plastic in bulk when it has so much environmental impact? Because once produced we
are so foolish to throw it anywhere especially the places that serve us to rest? Also because once
produced we do not reuse it in things that are so useful? RECYCLE: and finally when the product
has no more life we must recycle it. We can't throw it away without more. There are eco parks
where we can take waste that should not be thrown into the garbage can because it is highly
polluting.

Learn to recycle and reduce these tips will help us learn to recycle and reduce, it is not
complicated at all and the benefits for the environment, and therefore for us, are many. -Buy in
second-hand stores: in these places we find all kinds of products and much cheaper. -Buy products
with the least possible packaging: the less packaging the less waste and less cost. Buying in bulk is
a good option. - Stop using disposable items: use rechargeable batteries, discard single-use items.
- Renting, or even borrowing, items that they use sporadically is also a good way to reduce
consumption. -Repair the appliances instead of replacing them with new ones. -Donate everything
that is no longer useful to us. What for some is no longer useful for others can be very important.
What benefits do these practices offer us? By recycling, reusing, reducing we will be getting many
benefits, including:

-Long life of products.

-Reduce the amount of waste we produce.
-Benefit the conservation of the environment.
-Reduce greenhouse gas emissions that are so influencing climate change.
-When reusing and recycling we reduce pollution since less raw material needs to be produced.
-There is considerable energy savings.

Importance of recycling plants.

We will know the importance of recycling plants. These places are necessary for a correct recovery
and management of the waste we generate. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle In this hyper-consumption

“Mountains and Seas, La Esperanza is Green and Blue”

It is a project with a specific mission. Developing it requires AWARENESS, LEARNING, EDUCATION,

the amount of material that the island discards per day. They are plants that compact, incinerate
and others as tractors with shovels that help landfills.

The excessive consumption of plastic has reached a limit, and requires AWARENESS, every day we

Care and Protection of Marine Fauna and Flora

What is an endemic species?

An endemic species are living beings, which include both flora and fauna, whose distribution is
restricted to a specific geographical area, be it a province, region, country or continent.

Marine Fauna Knowledge

Fauna is the set of animal species that inhabit a geographical region, that are characteristic of a
geological period or that can be found in a given ecosystem. Zoogeography deals with the spatial
distribution of animals.

Among the mammals are two species of bats, one of them endemic (Natalus brevimanus). There is
also an endemic freshwater fish (Poecillia vetiprovidentiae). Several species of land crabs coexist
among which the shanky crab (Gecarcinus lateralis), white crab (Cardisoma huanomi,) and the
black crab (Gecarcinus ruricola) stand out, the latter being one of the species that is part of the
natural phenomenon of migrations massive, which occurs between the months of April and June.
There are 76 reported bird species, of which 56 are migratory.

The fauna has been exposed to pressures such as logging or indiscriminate burning, reducing the
area available as a refuge for animals.

The region is defined as high to very high marine endemism. Additionally, the western Caribbean
region has been identified as an important site of coral and fish diversity, so the coral reefs of the
archipelago make up one of the most extensive and productive systems in the western
hemisphere.

The region is defined as high to very high marine endemism. Additionally, the western Caribbean
region has been identified as an important site of coral and fish diversity, so the coral reefs of the
archipelago make up one of the most extensive and productive systems in the western
hemisphere.

What is the flora of the sea?

The islands are covered by lush vegetation. The climate, geology and morphology of the region
favor the development of a natural tree and shrub type vegetation. The vegetation can be
considered as a transitional forest between dry and wet up to 20 m high, with few epiphytes and a
small herbaceous and shrubby stratum. Some authors point out that Providencia's forests, for
example, are among the best conserved in the Caribbean and their concentration of species per
unit area (more than 60 in 1,000 m2) indicates that it is an important center of Caribbean
biodiversity.

The Crab Wood (Byrsonima crassifolia), the Cotton Tree (Ceiba pentandra), the Hog Plum
(Spondias bombin) and the Birch Tree (Bursera simaruba) stand out, and in the shrub stratum we
find a predominance of Cock Spur (Acacia collinsii). In the highest parts of the island they
predominate in the

The plants in the seas are dominated by algae. ... Algae also vary in form and diversity depending
on the marine region in which they live and the temperature of the water. A total of at least 700
species of algae distributed along the coasts of the country are estimated.

Knowledge of Biodegradable and Non-Biodegradable Materials

What are biodegradable materials?

The biodegradable adjective allows qualifying the substance that can be degraded by the action of
a biological agent. Animals, fungi and bacteria, for example, can achieve the breakdown of such
products.

Biodegradable solid wastes are those wastes that can be decomposed through the action of
microorganisms, through a natural aerobic system. These funny animals so useful are: for example
earthworms, fungi and bacteria

Biodegradable materials are those that for the most part have a natural origin, are usually 'organic'
or manufactured based on organic products, and therefore are degraded or recycled without the
need for human processes transforming into another type of organic matter. They break down by
natural processes and generate food and energy.
What wastes are biodegradable?

The remains of food, fruit and vegetable shells, meat, wood, wool, paper, eggshells, sawdust,
some detergents, residues from the sugar industry.

What are non-biodegradable materials?

Any non-organic material, which has never had life. Difficult degradation

The best way to treat non-degradable pollutants and those with slow degradation is to prevent
them from being thrown into the environment and on the other hand to recycle or reuse them.
Non-biodegradable are harmful to the environment.

In general, this type of non-biodegradable materials, are not organic, but are the product of many
like plastics and other fabrics and synthetic materials. ... Being materials that do not decompose
naturally accumulate in the environment and are absorbed by plants, soil and animals.

What wastes are non-biodegradable?

-Tins of soda or all kinds, glass,

-Metals: iron, steel, tin, aluminum, lead, gold, bismuth, silver, etc.

-Plastics: nylon, rayon, polyethylene, lexan, PVC, polypropylene.

-Ceramics: fiberglass, carbon fiber.

-Bumps, circuit boards.

-Polypropylene disposable cups and plates,

-Tobacco butts, chewing gum, silicon-based materials, batteries, acids, noble gases, motor oils
-Chemical products for the manufacture of insecticides or fungicides.

-Residues from the production of photographic material, ink, dye, paints, varnishes.

-Cola, resins, glues, latex.

Sensitization to Natives and Tourists about: REDUCTION, REUSE AND RECYCLING.

What is Reduce Reuse and Recycle?

Las tres erres (3R) is a rule to take care of the environment, specifically to reduce the volume of
waste or garbage generated. Simply put, the 3Rs help to throw less garbage, save money and be a
more responsible consumer. And best of all, it is very easy to follow: reduce, reuse and recycle.

Therefore, the best solution, in short, is that we put into practice the slogan of the three Rs,
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, in this order of importance. ... The three ecological (3R) erres is a rule
to take care of the environment, specifically to reduce the volume of waste or garbage generated.

How can you reduce garbage?

Practices as simple as reducing (crushing) the size of waste before disposal and choosing products
with fewer containers is a good way to start. For example, eco-bricks, simple and functional to
reduce waste; Reusable bags, no more plastic in business or in supermarkets.

What is the difference between Reuse and Recycle?

On the one hand, recycling is taking advantage of the material from which a particular product is
made to turn it into something else (glass bottles converted into glasses) or, again, into it (used
paper transformed into new paper), while reusing is using a product again, whether for the same
or not
- Do continuous pedagogical work in a playful and dynamic way, as children learn.

- To assume a cheerful FITNESS, many times it causes us discouragement and does not feel like
following, and the element of the climate in San Andres with high temperatures is a great
challenge, gratifying is that in the face of this environmental responsibility, CREATE IT! More
people will participate automatically, groups of companies that will speak the same topic.

Reduce: consume as little as possible drinks and food packed in trays, bags, plastics and
cellophane.

Reuse: containers, glasses, clothes, restore furniture, certain building materials.

Recycle: plastic, cardboard, cans, glasses, paper, in all its forms, bottles, glass cups.

How do we reduce plastic elements and other materials?

-When we buy water or other liquids always have a thermos for packaging.

-Food: which can be bought in bulk.

-Drinks that have only one package.

-Bring the tissue bags to pack the purchases.

-Consume unpacked fruits and vegetables.

Solutions

1) From this Workshop, good pedagogical, playful, dynamic and creative practices emerged, in
addition to SOLUTIONS for continuous pedagogy in environmental protection:

2) Establish educational programs aimed at the population

3) Establish environmental rules and compliance with them.

4) Educate population at all ages that facilitate processes and implementation.

5) Collection of solid waste and hospital liquids.

6) Assemble, build infrastructure and logistics to distribute, move with degradable materials.

7) Sensitize tourists in the 4R program, once they enter the island: airport, marinas, crowded
tourist spots.

8) Apply all SOLUTIONS and VALUES.

Mountains and Seas, La Esperanza is Green and Blue

Definitely our SOLUTIONS for a SUSTAINABLE PLANET and in BALANCE with the Environment is to
keep Mountains and Seas clean and in good condition of all kinds of non-Biodegradable material:
plastic bottles, glass, glasses, cans, newspapers, cartons, containers, cigarettes, Know Reduce,

educational institutions, universities, large and small companies, public and private sector.

We must respect our nature, our land; it is not just about taking it out, providing it as
decontamination and promoting it always, so that its RESOURCES are used with environmental
awareness. They have given us a wonderful planet full of RESOURCES: water, fruit, riches in the
seas and rivers, on the earth a large pantry that produces all kinds of crops, but we ourselves are
its biggest predators: high overpopulation rates leads to Excessive consumption of our Natural
Resources, although they are abundant, we must obtain them with PRUDENCE and MODERATION.

The 4R program is a COMMUNITY ACTION and PARTICIPATION PROPOSAL, but it is at home

where we build VALUES.

Knowledge of Biodegradable and non-Biodegradable materials. Second part.

In the second part of Bio and Non Bio materials, a large amount of recyclable materials were found
around the island, the amount of scrap wastes that are found around the island such as fans,
stoves, refrigerators is impressive , motorcycles, cars, metals of all kinds, aluminum, copper, iron,
etc. This situation of scrap scrap is seen everywhere on the periphery of the island, in addition to
neighborhoods in the interior and between them the garbage is thrown away. Debris of houses
and buildings, amount of motorcycles and cars that have no use are seen in garages.

Among the Biodegradable materials is the debris of palms, trees, mangroves including the
sargassum that stack and pile around the most important beaches.

RECOVERY of plastic, land and other materials.

The 4 Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover As the name implies, it is the way to agglomerate,
gather materials and place them in their respective place, We have exceeded the production rate
of the materials not everything is involved, go to more natural formats : but here is the key !! Look
well that we are going to consume so as not to generate more consumption when our food and
drinks are packed, what clothes we are going to use, what appliances we will use, etc.
It is proposed to follow the rule of the four R:

As the name implies, it is the way to agglomerate, gather materials and place them in their
respective place.

How do we reduce plastic elements and other materials?

Reduce: it consists in rejecting the different types of packages or packages when they do not fulfill
an essential function for their conservation, transfer or consumption. We should be particularly
careful with disposable products. For example, use napkins, cloth handkerchiefs instead of those
made of paper, go shopping with a cart or cloth or fiber bags without using single-use plastic bags.
Eat foods that are in bulk, grains, fruits and vegetables, avoid food packed in trays, icopor,
cellophane, bags. Take care that we are going to use clothes, appliances. Request to our suppliers
of Electric Energies the start-up of Renewable or Alternative Energies.

Reuse: before discarding any product we must take full advantage of it. Glass containers can be
reused once washed; shopping bags can be used for garbage. Containers and vessels reuse them,
repair clothes, repair furniture, reuse building materials, doors, windows, tiles, pipes.

Recycle: most of the materials from which the products we use at home are made are recyclable.
Once we have used them, we should return them to the production cycle so that, after a
treatment, they can be incorporated back into the market, thus reducing the consumption of raw
materials and energy. When disposing of these elements, they must be selected so that the
collection cars take them to their respective container or are incinerated, compacted or used in
landfills that establish roads or streets.

Recover: It is based on the use of the waste generated in another process than the one that
produced it; this can be introduced into the new process directly or through some previous
treatment.

Currently we have mechanisms that would make it possible not to generate so much waste and
recover the raw materials and resources contained in our garbage, but, for things to change, it is
necessary for citizens to acquire new buying habits, reducing the amount of waste and making
selective separation of the different types of garbage. Recover endemic species; recover Habitats,
Ecosystems and Biodiversity. Recover vacant land, lakes, lagoons, recover land that was
prosperous and full of wildlife, avoid burning, let the farmland rest for a while to recover its
natural components and nutrients, rotation of crop lots, avoid chemical uses, pesticides and use
organic fertilizers, Recover plantings, crops and products that had stopped growing, Recover Flora,
Fauna and species that are on their way to extinction and mainly RECOVER VALUES to teach our
sons and daughters the VALUE AND RESPECT FOR EVERYTHING LIFESTYLE.
-Proliferation of dogs and cats: vaccination, sterilization and improvement of shelters. Animal
holding.

Several different animalists were summoned to associate and defend the animal cause, Animal
Protection Association. They help the animal proliferation of dogs and cats to reduce and that
those in the streets get help, are rehabilitated, cared for, protected and can be adopted, improve
their health through vaccination, sterilization, improvement of shelters with campaigns and
Continuous brigades, in addition to establishing teams of veterinarians who come from the
continent, organize offices for people who know the animal life in the streets and who have
acquired wisdom and academy to establish offices that allow to reduce the population of stray
animals.

-Sector of San Luis: pollution of sewage and Sargassum (algae).

Basic priority issues to solve in different sectors

Little Hill, Soundbay, Smitchanel, Hophie, in these neighborhoods that are the ones that are at the
foot of the beaches demand much more attention for being tourist areas and where the algae
when decomposing invade the areas with strong odors generating a great olfactory environmental
pollution. In addition, the presence of proliferation of animals is seen, many of which are ill or not
sterilized, which is why this proliferation is seen.

With reference to the important constructions, parks, courts, bleachers that are close to the
coliseum have been left in the middle. There is a need to help sports teams that require uniforms
and teachers in specialized areas.

-Collection center for the complete recycling cycle, machines and collection cars.

The complete cycle of a Recycling begins with the collection of garbage in urban areas and some
rural areas, for this purpose there is a private company that with rudimentary cars must do the
task every day. There are three basic color canecas: Blue, Green and Gray where they select the
material and then throw it all in the same container, which are the collection cars in this way the
recycling that people have previously done is lost. and larger ones of blue color to throw garbage
or of greater size or by quantities and that take more time to collect and send them to the
collection center Once all the material is collected it goes to a collection center (sanitary landfill)
that above and enormous, with an approximate altitude of 280 or more meters, you can perfectly
see that it has no more space to throw. A rather delicate situation that if they do not enter to
empty it or burn it or compact it, there could be a health emergency. The machinery they use is
not optimal for the large amount of plastic that needs to be evacuated every day, they must be
machinery with greater technology, more advanced and the cleaning, hygiene and collection
companies need very urgently in the same way that everything needs to be evacuated this
material that the island discards per day. Of course, these machines are expensive that the central
government and the island government must acquire, finance to put them into operation.

RENEWABLE ENERGIES or ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES.

Soon we will enter into the global use of Renewable Natural Resources or Alternative Energies ”,
that is, Wind, sun, water, generate essential energies to move many machines, devices, light in the
houses. Why? The global climate increase, indiscriminate hunting and fishing, on exploitation of
Natural Resources, of the soils causing deterioration, acidity uses of pesticides and fungicides this
and much more factors have set alarms and make effective, effective and definitive decisions to
further reduce the use of hydrocarbons that generate high emissions and concentrations of gases
that produce pollution and a high level of environmental impact. Renewable Energies are the
Solutions in a globalized way, putting them into practice require “Education and Awareness”, in
addition to costly investment and application of the 4R program, Education of programs in
Environmental Pedagogy. We exceed the rate of production of materials, not everything is
involved, go to more natural formats as before. The introduction of Renewable Energies is gradual,
you cannot stop using hydrocarbons, they produce 68% of the world's energy, by 2030 the E.R.
They must be producing 80% of the world's energy and use of 20% of hydrocarbons. The tools are
in our hands depends on how we are going to use our WISDOM and knowledge to deal with the
Environmental Impact, global overheating, over exploitation of land and seas, Mountains and Seas
is the Hope of our survival. An active ingredient so important is to be spiritual leads us to be better
people and therefore to use our intellect in favor of elements friendly to nature. Definitely for a
sustainable and balanced planet, is to keep mountains and seas clean in good condition and clean
of all kinds of material: plastic bottles, glasses, cans, newspapers, cartons, containers, cigarettes,
etc.

Education is required for people of all ages, especially children and young people who assume
education more easily, in addition to going to institutions, colleges, universities, private and public
companies even in spaces where there is greater concentration of people and can receive
information on the issues of environmental protection and care.

We must respect our nature, our land, not only to take it out but to give it, contribute, nourish it,
so that its resources are used with environmental awareness.
The loss of Biodiversity has been mainly caused by activities such as deforestation for land use in
agriculture and livestock, the expansion of roads and cities, overfishing, pollution and transport, in
addition to all that burning fossil fuels to obtain Energies Global warming will aggravate the
damage, leading to more than 5% of the extinction of species in seas and land. They have given a
wonderful planet, full of resources: water, fruit trees, riches in the seas and rivers, the land that
produces their crops. Our Resources are abundant, but we must obtain them with PRUDENCE
AND MODERATION.

The 4R programs are ACCION's environmentalist proposals and citizen participation, but it is at
home where we must build the VALUES.

We were educated to be Human Beings, we learned VALUES, but now we add another teaching
that was not and is not inherent to the Human Being: how to get rid of plastic and other materials
that are flooding us. The consumption and quantity of products that are not necessary, as well as
we standardize a useful and important product for the consumption and satisfaction of man, in
the same way we must standardize Our RESPECT VALUES.

They say that the welfare of the Human Being is born with him, but I tell them: our house must
acquire, channel our education, even from the womb of our mother.

Energía Eólica en Tierra

Energía Eólica en el mar

What it is, how it works, advantages and disadvantages.

Wind energy is the energy that is obtained from the wind. It is a type of kinetic energy produced
by the effect of air currents. We can convert this energy into electricity through an electric
generator. A wind turbine is an electric generator driven by a wind-powered turbine, its
predecessors are windmills. The improvement of technology allows some wind fields to produce
electricity as cheap as coal or atomic power plants. Without a doubt, we are facing a source of
energy with its advantages and disadvantages. It is a renewable, clean energy that does not
pollute and helps replace the energy produced through fossil fuels.

How does wind energy work?

Wind energy is obtained by converting the movement of the blades of a wind turbine into
electrical energy. A wind turbine is an electric generator driven by a wind-powered turbine, its
predecessors are windmills.

A wind turbine is made up of the tower; an orientation system located at the end of the tower, at
its upper end; a power grid coupling cabinet attached to the base of the tower; a gondola that is
the frame that shelters the mechanical components of the mill and that serves as base of the
shovels; a shaft and rotor control in front of the blades; and inside the gondola, a brake, a
multiplier, the generator and the electrical regulation system.
Energy Photovoltaic

Photovoltaic energy is the direct transformation of solar

radiation into electricity. This transformation occurs in devices called photovoltaic panels.
