The individuals mentioned in the case study tells us that they are satisfied with their jobs.
Relationship of job satisfaction in regard to job performance, citizenship behavior and turnover
can be described as follows:
a) Job Performance: Good performance at job helps employees work hard and increases
customer satisfaction ultimately. It also develop customer loyalty and retention. Customers
would come back if they are served properly.
b) Citizenship Behavior: Being flexible in citizenship behavior provides a good job performance.
John Bishop and Irene Tse willingly provide job performance better than before and provide a
positive exposure about their work.
Tony Krutz and David Clark offer excellent job performance keeping neutral views about the
citizenship behavior. They do not seem to be performing better, neither have they offered any
volunteering attitude or exposure to the rest.
c) Turnover: The individuals mentioned are less likely to quit because they are satisfied with
their job.
John Bishop and Irene have high motivations about their work and serve beyond the expectations
of an organization.
Krutz and David Clark are satisfied due to the traveling opportunities they get in their job.
Despite a tough routine and tight schedule which makes their personal life a bit difficult, they
maintain the job requirements and won’t give up their job.

Job satisfaction can be achieved by being independent, remaining positive, being significant,
skilled and responsible. From the given case study, following characteristics have been
analyzed:-
John Bishop: He is offered high pay salary and his job gives him the opportunity of being
independent.
Irene is independent, has a serious attitude towards the job and the job inspires her to work
harder. The job is an inspiration for her.
Tony Krutz: The job gives him the opportunity to travel around the world (exotic locations),
offers him a high salary which ultimately motivates him to work hard.
David Clark: The job provides him with travelling experience and a big salary.

These jobs are highly time consuming, often very stressful and these sorts of jobs keep the
employees away from their families.
Thus, only certain individuals are attracted to these types of jobs. These employees possess
certain characteristics. For example, they are workaholics and they tend to work overtime if they
have to. Also, these individuals give priority to their work rather than their personal life.
Moreover, these types of individuals also find certain characteristics of job appealing to them
such as: higher status in the society, they take their job as a challenge and feel a sense of
satisfaction when they achieve their goals.
