Market Headlines

Welcome to November 2010 edition of Manheim's Quarterly Market Analysis Report for cars. The report considers the profile and value of cars sold by Manheim Remarketing on behalf of Fleet, Dealer and
Manufacturer vendors between Q3 2007 and Q3 2010. The profile and value of key model segments from each of these sectors is also considered, from Small Hatchback to Executive models.

The report highlights that, overall, values fell by 4.6% during Q3 2010 in comparison with Q2 2010 and were 6.8% lower in comparison with Q3 2009. However, values during Q3 2010 were 15.6% higher in
comparison with Q3 2008 and 2.7% higher in comparison with Q3 2007. Although average age was static in comparison with the previous period, the report also shows that average age was 2 months higher in
comparison with Q3 2009, 5 months higher in comparison with Q3 2008 and 6 months higher in comparison with Q3 2007. Similarly, although average mileage rose by only 1,376 miles during Q3 2010, this was
2,112 miles higher in comparison with Q3 2009, 4,385 miles higher in comparison with Q3 2008 and 5,533 miles higher in comparison with Q3 2007.

However, despite the apparent disparities in the profile and value of cars sold during these periods, it is important to note that the % New Price retained fell by 2% during Q3 2010, was 3% lower in comparison
with Q3 2009, 3% higher in comparison with Q3 2008 and 3% lower in comparison with Q3 2007. Similarly, variances in average values were not necessarily reflective of variances in the volume of cars sold, with
volumes during Q3 2010 7% higher in comparison with Q3 2009 and 4% higher during Q3 2009 in comparison with Q3 2008. However, volumes fell by 6% during Q3 2008 in comparison with Q3 2007 and were
only 2% higher during Q3 2007 in comparison with Q3 2006.

In the Fleet sector, the average selling price fell by 7.8% during Q3 2010 and was 10.3% lower in comparison with Q3 2009 but 14.9% higher in comparison with Q3 2008 and 1.8% higher in comparison with Q3
2007. However, although the % New Price retained during Q3 2010 was 3% lower than during Q3 2009, this was 3% higher in comparison with Q3 2008 but 2% lower in comparison with Q3 2007.

The average selling price in the Dealer sector fell by 3.1% during Q3 2010 and was 3.9% lower in comparison with Q3 2009 but 23.5% higher in comparison with Q3 2008 and 4.5% lower in comparison with Q3
2007. The % New Price retained by cars from the Dealer sector during Q3 2010 was 1% lower in comparison with Q3 2009, 2% higher in comparison with Q3 2008 but static in comparison with the same period of
2007.

Values in the Manufacturer sector fell by 1.2%

1 2% during Q3 2010 and were 3.2%
3 2% lower in comparison with Q3 2009 but 15.2%
15 2% higher in comparison with Q3 2008 and 3.5%
3 5% higher in comparison with Q3 2007.
2007
However, in common with the Fleet sector, the % New Price retained during Q3 2010 was 4% lower in comparison with Q3 2009, 4% higher in comparison with Q3 2008 but 9% lower in comparison with Q3
2007.
