ensure the long life and correct operation of your appliance.

1.GENERAL REGULATIONS
It is very important to keep this instruction manual near the machine for future consultation. If the appliance is sold or transferred to
another User, make sure this manual remains with the machine so that the new owner is informed about the warnings and operation of
the appliance.

The purpose of the warnings is to safeguard the user in compliance with directive 93/42 with incorporated in the "Harmonised Technical
Product Standards " EN 61010-1 AND EN 61010-2-45 ” .

They must be read carefully before installing and using the machine.

1.1 Safety recommendations


- If the bedpan washer seems damaged, contact the retailer before using it.
- The bedpan washer must be connected to water and electric mains by qualified AND AUTHORIZED technicians only.
- This bedpan washer can be used by specialized and instructed persons only.
- The bedpan washer is made to wash and disinfect bedpans, urinals, urological glasses, kidney-shaped bowls, gathering and
draining bottles and other containers used in hospitals, nursing homes, rest homes.
- Any use other than that for which the machine was intended is forbidden.
- The user is forbidden to carry out any work or repairs on the machine.
- Technical Assistance for this bedpan washer should be carried out by qualified and authorised operators only.
- The equipment should be installed by authorised persons only.
- Do not install the equipment in rooms where there is the risk of explosion.
- Do not expose the equipment to intense cold.
- The electrical safety of this bedpan washer is only guaranteed if it is connected to an efficient earth system.
- Take great care when handling detergents and additives: avoid contact, wear gloves and act in compliance with the safety
recommendations indicated by the manufacturer of the chemical products.
- Do not inhale the fumes produced by chemical products.
WARNING: the chemical products are an irritant for the eyes, in case of contact rinse thoroughly
with plenty of water and consult a doctor. If these products come into contact with the skin, rinse
with plenty of water.
- The water in the tank is not drinking water.
- Do not lean on the door and do not use it as a step.
- The machine reaches a temperature of 95°C during the work cycle: take great care to avoid burns.
- Do not wash the machine using high-pressure jets of water.
- Disconnect the machine from the electrical supply before carrying out maintenance work.
- The acoustic pressure of the machine is below 70dBA.

1.2 Recommendations to ensure high quality


performance.
• When the machine is running do not interrupt the cycle since this jeopardises disinfection.
• Check periodically using chemical indicators to ensure correct disinfection.
• Use recommended detergents and chemical additives only. The use of other products may damage the machine.
• Recommending chemical additives does not make the manufacturer responsible for any damage to the materials and
objects treated.
• Follow the manufacturer's indications when using chemical products and use them for the foreseen use only.
• The machine was designed for use with water and chemical additives. Do not use organic or other types of solvent as this
may result in the risk of explosion or the rapid deterioration of certain machine parts.
• Residues of solvents or acids, particularly “hydrochloric acid”, can damage steel. Contact should be avoided.
• Use original accessories only.
• Under no circumstances should the user attempt to carry out repairs.
• Repairs and servicing of this bedpan washer must be carried out by authorised persons only.
• Do never use soap powder.
• Do never use foaming detergent.
• Do never use chemical products based on chlorides (bleaches, sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid and so on). These
kinds of chemical detergents irreparably damage the machine and jeopardise the integrity of materials and objects
treated.

N.B.: The Manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damage or injury caused by failure to observe
the above rules.

The non-observance of these rules produces the total and prompt cancellation of the guarantee.

2. INSTALLATION (for the installer only)

2.1 Positioning the machine


All the packaging materials can be recycled.

• Open the packaging carefully.


• Do not overturn the machine as this may cause irreparable damage.
• Cut the strap or open the box and remove the expanded polystyrene corner guards.
• Remove the box followed by the nylon bag.
• Caution: the bag represents a serious hazard for children and should be disposed of immediately.
• Place the machine on the work surface and level it by adjusting the feet.

2.2 Connection to the Water Mains (Installer only)


• This machine should be connected to the water network in compliance with current legislation
• The non-return system for water is already in place inside the machine.
• Connect using cocks with ¾” couplings in an easily accessible position.
• Make sure that the water supply pressure conforms to that indicated in the table (Table 1).
• Should it be less than 2 bar dynamic pressure (200 kPa) a pressure pump must be installed to guarantee that the appliance
functions properly.
• If, however, the water supply pressure is higher than 5 bar. (500 kPa), a pressure reducing device must be installed. If the
water on the average is harder than 10 ° Fr., softened water must be used.
• Each machine is equipped with a rubber tube for drawing water with a threaded 3/4" attachment.
• Connect the drain syphon with which the appliance is equipped.
• Feed cable: The retailer - importer - installer is obliged to ensure the feed cable complies with the insulation category
appropriate to the work place, in conformity with the technical regulations in force.
• The pipe marked with red should be connected to the hot water supply (max. 70°C), connect the pipe marked with blue to the
cold water supply.
• Do not shorten or damage the rubber pipes supplied with the machine.
• Use the pipes supplied with the machine only.
• The machine has a thermostatic mixer to adjust the temperature of the incoming water plus a filter that should be cleaned
periodically (at least every 4 months) by your technical assistance service.

2.3 Connection to the Electrical Mains (Installer only)


• Connection to the mains must be made according to the technical regulations in force.
• Ensure that the mains voltage measured corresponds to the value featured on the relevant specifications plate attached to the
appliance.
• Install a suitable four pole circuit breaker, dimensioned according to absorption, with a contact opening of at least 3 mm.
• Make sure that the electric installation is suitably earthed.
• There is a terminal on the back of the appliance, marked with the symbol which is provided for the equipotential connection
between various different appliances (see electrical safety standards).

2.4 Detergent dispenser.
The use of “neodisher SBR” detergent manufactured by DR.WEIGERT – Germany is recommended as the machine was tested
by this company.

• The liquid detergent dispenser is a optional fitting on the machine. The quantity of detergent supplied can be adjusted by
following the directions given in paragraph 8.3.
• The default values correspond to the percentage recommended by the detergent manufacturer for an average consumption of
20 cc. per cycle
• Warning: the machine is fitted with a gauge that sends a warning signal when the detergent runs out.

2.5 SCALE-INHIBITOR FEEDING


The use of “neodisher SBN” lime-scale reducer manufactured by DR.WEIGERT – Germany is recommended as the machine
was tested by this company.

• The scale-inhibitor(SBN) dispenser is a optional fitting on the machine. The quantity of “SBN” supplied can be adjusted by
following the directions given in paragraph 8.3.
• The default values correspond to the percentage recommended by the “SBN” manufacturer for an average consumption of
10 cc. per cycle
• Warning: the machine is fitted with a gauge that sends a warning signal when the “SBN” runs out.

WARNING
To ensure the efficiency of the dispenser pumps for chemical products it is important to
service them regularly as described in paragraph 12.

2.6 Connecting the discharge pipe.


• The discharge pipe connection should be checked carefully.
• Machine is arranged with a Ø90 mm connection, it is possible to make connection with pipes of different sizes by using
suitable adapter.
• Wall and floor connection are allowed
• Machine is equipped with an alarm system which can notice eventually defects to drain pipe
If drain is obstructed, machine gives an acoustic warning together with a LCD message. All functions are excluded and
machine remains in total block till drain recycle.
• Use a discharge pipe suitable for organic and chemical materials and hot liquids.

• Caution: if the discharge pipe is clogged take great care when processing the water and avoid contact with hands,
eyes, etc. In the case of contact rinse the parts concerned with plenty of water.

3. USING THE MACHINE (for the user)

3.1 Checks
• Check the quantity of chemical additives present and top-up if necessary.

3.2 Opening and closing the door


• The machine is fitted with an electric door lock to prevent it being opened when the machine is running.
• To open the door during a wash cycle, interrupt the cycle and remember that:
1. The items inside the machine may be very hot.
2. The entire wash cycle must be repeated.

3.2.1 Opening and closing door by automatic handling


• For machine equipped with this device, the opening and closing door occurs by means of the working pedal; it is no forecast a
manual working.
• Door handling can be done by making a quick pressure on pedal.
• Washing cycle stars automatically at door closing.

Manual closing of the motorized door


By making an extended pressure (3 sec. ) on pedal, there is a closing door, advised by an acoustic warning. Machine
remains in stand-by and no datas are memorized. In case the motorized door is manually closed, the motorgear is actived
for a settled time by the parameter( P21) in order to put in position the door closing system. Even in this case machine
remains in stand.by, and no events are memorized.
PAY ATTENTION : whashing doesn’t start.

3.3 Preparation
• Place the items to be washed inside the machine and position them carefully on the holder and in the rack.
• Items should not overlap.
• Receptacles should be positioned so that liquids can flow out easily.
• Tall or heavy items should be placed towards the middle of the rack if possible to facilitate washing.
• Make sure that nothing is blocking the arms and that they turn freely.
• Caution: the maximum load for each cycle is 5.0 kg.

3.4 FUNCTIONING
Insert the items to wash, locating them accurately on their support; on the image is shown the control panel with led display.

This panel easy the use of the machine because highlights the different phasis of the cycle and the maximum temperature reached
during the disinfection; moreover, it gives messages on every problem happened.
The machine can be equipped with automatic door whit pedal for the opening and closing of the door.

WARNING: The wash cycle starts automatically when closing the door.

4. CONTROL PANEL AND RELEVANT
SYMBOLS

4.1 WASH PROGRAMS


P01 – SHORT PROGRAM
• Suggested to wash not really dirty items or items containing liquids.
• Total cycle about 4 minutes
P02 – NORMAL PROGRAM
• Suggested to wash items containing excrements of normal consistency.
• Total cycle about 6 minutes
P03 – INTENSIVE PROGRAM
• Suggested to wash very dirty items, with excrement of sticky and gluey consistency and dryed excrements.
• Total cycle about 8 minutes

4.2 GENERALITY OF THE ELECTRONIC BOARD


Electronic board to be used for the contol of a bedpan washer as described here below.
Any other different use than that one described here above.
The device has been made to be used as component on the electromecanical systems of the washing field.
All applicable parts of the low tension directive, relevant to the specific use of the appliance, must be applied.

4.3 CONTROL PANEL


Led display
• Shows the temperature and if any problems accours the machine.
• After pressing Start, the display indicates the temperature of the washing water.
• In the event of a Shutdown, the display indicated the shutdown status and the type of fault.

Led
• There are 9 leds:
• One yellow for the start (1), a red for the stop (2), a flashing red for the lack of disinfection, a green for the complete cycle,
three yellow for the different programs and a yellow for the switch with/without detergent.
Buzzer
• There is a buzzer which rings at every pression on switches and intermittently rings in case of block.

4.5 SWITCHES
There are 6 switches with the following functions:

P1: Which select the program “short ”

P2: Which select the program “normal”

P3: Which select the program “intensive”

Start: After choosing the desired program, by pushing this switch you start the cycle which will end, after the various phases.

Stop: This switch stops a cycle during the running; in this way the board stops the process, show the lack of disinfection keeping the
door blocked and shows the possible high temperature inside the chamber. To go out from this situation please proceed with the
unblock procedure.

PRG: Pushin for an instant this switch you select only the wash cycle while, keep pushing the switch for two seconds, during the waiting
or the block period, you have the access to the Menu.
Operations, to enter into phases for programming, setting, time regulation and printing , are as follows:

5. MACHINE CONDITIONS
The machine will remember, after an electric cut-off and the subsequent reset, the state which,it had before the cut off.
Usually after the restoration the machine goes on the preparation state.

5.1 PREPARATION:
In this situation the machine fill the tank up to the medium level, if necessary, and keep the water into the boiler at the setted
temperature. During the installation, after the water filling to the medium level, heaters will be ON 30 seconds later in order to aloud a
complete filling of the boiler.
The diagnostic is active.

5.2 WAIT:
The machine is ready to work.
The diagnostic is active.

5.3 CYCLE:
There are two possibilities to enter into this situation: or with the start switch, which is accepted only on the waiting time and with closed
door or, in case of machine with motorized door, with the pedal switch which is accepted only on the waiting time and with open door.
The cycle is running according to its phasis. The diagnostic and the regulators are active. The user interface gives all indications about
the different phasis and about the chamber temperature (see the reset procedure).

5.4 BLOCK:
The diagnostic found an anomaly which cause a block, the cycle is interrupted keeping the door blocked. The anomaly is shown on the
panel and the user interface wait for a switches sequence to the unblock of the door and to lead the machine into the waiting time.

6. PARTICULARITY

6.1 Power drop


In case of power drops during the Preparation, Wait or Block states, after the power reset the board goes back to the program previously
setted.
When tension is restored following a power failure with a cycle in progress, the card shuts down the machine (power failure), indicates
that the cycle has been interrupted and waits for the reset procedure to be carried out.

6.2 Unblock sequence


In case of block or stop from keyboard, when the cycle is running, the door remains closed and blocked. To open the door please follow
the procedure on the keyboard which is as follows:
• Stop and start switches pushed in the same time for 5”.
• The “sequence switches” signal will appear.
• Push in sequence the short program switch (P01) and then the standard program switch (P02)
• Out of the block situation, the machine will go to the waiting period of the short cycle.

N.B. In case the block situation will remain because of the bad working of some component (ex. broken probe, wrong levels, etc.) after
the unblock sequence the Block state will remain but the door is unblocked.

7. DIAGNOSTICS
⇒7.1 Lack of chemical product:
Noticed by a dedicated digital inlet.
It do not stop the cylcle when is running, it is shown on the display.

⇒7.2 Steam generator heaters interrupted:


If steam generator heaters are activated for more than a setted time (P19) the cycle is interrupted and goes into the block like on a
problem on heaters.

⇒7.3 Levels irregularity notice:


If a tank upper level sensor is active and a lower one level is not there will be this block.

⇒7.4 Door block notice:


If the door is open and blocked.

⇒7.5 Time-out warm/cold water filling:


If after a setted time the warm (P15), cold (P16) or both (P17) water electrovalves are open and there is not the reaching of a
subsequent level on the tank.

⇒7.6 Time-out water drain:


If after a setted time (P20) the wash pump is active and there is not the reaching of a subsequent level on the tank.

⇒7.7 Unblocked door:


If the door block is activate and, within the setted time by the parameter (P18), there is not the activation of the correspondant digital
inlet, there will be the block with the signal of unblocked door.

⇒7.8 Blocked drain:


The system is always active, the appliance goes into the block with the relevant signal.

⇒7.9 Problem on the temperature probe:


Blocks the machine, make signal of tank probe block or boiler probe block.

⇒7.10 Boiler problem:


When on the boiler there is an higher temperature than the maximum one alouded to set by the parameter (P10), it goes in block,
heaters will switch OFF with the boiler block signal.

On the motorized version:


⇒7.11 Door motor:
If after a setted time where the motor gear (P22) and its limit switch are working, it goes into block with the relevant signal.

⇒7.12 Door limit switch:


If after a time where the motor gear is active (P23), the limit switch is still active, it goes into block with the relevant signal.

⇒7.13 Door limit switch inconsistency:


If both limit switches are working (door open and door closed), it goes into block with the relevant signal.

8. MENU

8.1 ACCESSING THE MENU


To enter on the menu keep pushing the PRG switch for 5 seconds, during Wait or Block periods.
• Press P01 and P02 to increase or decrease the programme index.
• Press START to display a parameter setting or to return to the index of parameters.
• Press P01 and P02 to increase or decrease the various parameters.
• Press STOP to exit the parameters page.

8.2 HISTORICAL PRINT


• For the historical print, push the start switch; for the print interruption, please push stop.
• For the historical delete, push start; the delete will end automatically after re-setting the whole hystorical record.

8.3 PARAMETER SETTINGS


• To set parameters will be required a password. In case is given a wrong password, you go immediately out of the menu.

• To set the language, keep pushing the detergent selection switch to see the different languages.
• Push the start switch to confirm the choice or push the stop switch to go out of the function keeping the previous choice
unchanged.

9. WATCH
• The board is equipped with a real time watch.

• The time shown is used also to qualify the events historical.

10. EVENTS HISTORICAL


• The board can put in permanent memory the information listed here below up to 800 cycles. Of each cycle it will be recorded
on the memory the following data:

11. INTERFACE WITH THE PC


• The board have a comunication channel RS 232. With this channel is possible to go into the events hystorical by setting the
printer as follows:

• baud rate: 2400 baud, X ON X OFF

• data bits: 8bits,

• parity: none.

12. MAINTENANCE
It is good practice, especially when the water supply has a high-grade hardness, to carry out periodically the operations of
control and cleaning.

Pay a lot of attention to the restatance components and to the thermostat feelers (only on machine equipped with steam generator).

Warning : do not clean the machine outside with higt pressure water.

The protection class of the machine is IP 54.

Contact your cleaning products retailer for detailed instructions on methods and products to use for the periodical sanitary cleaning of
your appliance.

The machine is equipped with a safety thermostat which cuts the power to the steam generator heating element in case of overheating.
To restart the appliance, it is necessary to eliminate the cause of the problem.
A message on the display informs when the liquid is being finished and when it is completely run-down.

Every 4 months
- Clean and if necessary replace the filters placed at the entry of the hot and cold water supply;
- Clean and if necessary replace the membranes of the solenoid valves;
- Check and if necessary clean the nozzles;
- Clean the rotor of the motor pump, so that it turns freely;
- Check and if necessary clean from scales the thermostat feeler placed inside the basin;
- Clean the inside of the steam generator and the resistance.

Although the water at disposal may have a low-grade hardness, it cannot be avoided that the temperature which has to be reached may
cause scale formation. This, in addition to the problems caused to the reistance, may obstruct the steam nozzle, thus affecting the right
tank temperature for the disinfection.

WARNING
To ensure the efficiency of dispenser pumps for chemical products they must be serviced regularly .
Replace the diaphragm pipe inside the dispenser pump every 12 months.

Cleaning of the steam nozzle


• Take off the power supply and close the cocks of hot and cold water;
• Unscrew the nozzle placed inside the basin;
• Take off the scales which are in the nozzle hole;
• Reassemble the nozzle in its correct position after the complete cleaning.

Cleaning of the steam generator


• Take off the power supply and close the cocks of hot and cold water;
• Take off the screws which fix the steam generator to the frame;
• Extract the generator;
• Take off the resistance and the mechanic safety thermostat;
• Carry out the inside cleaning of the generator emptying it before from the scales;
• Clean thoroughly the pipe of the steam outlet and the resistance;
• After having completed the cleaning, reassemble the resistance and the thermostat;
• Fix the generator to the frame connecting it to the relative pipes;
• After having given the power supply and opened the cocks, start off the appliance and make sure that there are no water
leakages.

Cleaning the external structure

• Use mild detergents only, do not use abrasive detergents or solvents and/or thinners of any kind.
• Your retailer can recommend suitable products.

Cleaning the control board

• Clean the control board using a soft cloth dampened with a product specifically for plastic or a disinfectant specifically for this
type of use.

13. ALARM MESSAGES
If a fault arises do not attempt to resolve it yourself, ask for the assistance of an authorised technician.
13.1 Er 0 : BLOCK FROM A POWER SUPPLY CUT OFF
This condition happen if during the cycle there has been a power supply cut off.

13.2 Er 2 : DISINFECTION INCOMPLETE


This occurs when the temperature does not reach the required value for disinfection.

13.3 Er 3 : DOOR SECURITY BLOCK


This condition happen when, during a cycle, the reel is disactivated, so the door is unblocked. Or, if after the start the reel do not activate its limit
switch within the time setted by the parameter

13.4 Er 4 : OPEN DOOR BLOCK


This condition happen when, during a cycle, the limit switch of the closed door is disactivated. This situation is anomalous because the door is
blocked but open.

13.5 Er 5 : WATER BLOCK


This condition happen when both solenoid valves are ON and, within the setted time by the parameter, there is not the right level on the tank.
Likely reasons of such a block could be either the real lack of water or a too low setted time inside the parameter.

13.6 Er 6 : HEATING ELEMENTS BLOCK


This condition happen when, with heaters ON, the disinfection do not ends within the time setted by the parameter. Likely reasons of
such a block could be either a problem on heating elements or a too low setted time by the parameter.

13.7 Er 7 : TANK PROBE BLOCK


This condition happen when the probe for the tank temperature is damaged.

13.8 Er 8 : LEVELS BLOCK


This condition happen If an upper tank level is ON and a lower level is OFF.

13.9 Er 9 : PUMP BLOCK


This condition happen when the pump is running and the lower water level on the tank has not been reached within the time setted by
the parameter. Likely reasons of such a block could be either a too low time setted by the parameter or a problem on the pump.

13.10 E 10 : CLOGGED DRAIN BLOCK


This condition happen when the drain security pressostat is ON.

13.11 E 11 : BOILER PROBE BLOCK


This condition happen when the probe for the boiler temperature is damaged.

13.12 E 13 : BOILER BLOCK


This condition happen when the boiler temperature probe read an higher temperature than that one setted by the parameter. A likely
reason of such a block could be a water lack on the boiler.

13.13 E 14 : DOOR MOTOR BLOCK


This condition happen when the motor gear is activated and both limit swithes are not activated within the time setted by the parameter.
Likely reasons of such a block could be either an obstacle between the door and the machine or a damaged motor gear.

13.14 E 15 : DOOR LIMIT SWITCH BLOCK


This condition happen if both closed door and open door limit switches are ON.

WARNING: In order to remove the scale, suitable products can be used, yet pay
Attention that they are not highly corrosive.

ASSISTANCE: If a normal functioning of the machine is not achieved, even after
