Basketball Skill Olympics

Events and Descriptions

 One team member will be a recorder for each event; but this team member is till
allowed to participate.
 Remaining team members must compete in at least one event each.
 Every team will enter four team members per event.

Free throws (%):


Each team player shoots 10 FT's. FT's made by each player are totaled and divided by
total FT attempts for the “Team FT %.”

Shooting From Downtown (%):


Each team player shoots 10 times from beyond the 3-point line. Shots made by each
player are totaled and divided by total shots attempts for the “Team 3-pointer %.”

Rapid Fire Pass:


3 attempts at how many passes can be made to teammates without dropping the ball and
with each player participating in a set pattern, while standing at a minimum specified
distance from each other (e.g. 20-25 ft.) in 30 secs. Best trial counts as “Team Speed
Pass Count.”

4 v 2 scoring (secs.):
3 attempts at scoring a goal in a 4 v 2, starting at half court within 30 secs. Opponents try
to prevent scoring. 1 goal = 1 point. Time needed to score per attempt is totaled for a
"Total Team Score."

Fast break (secs.):


3 attempts at time needed to score off a defensive rebound. With 2 opposing players
defending own half; each team player needs to touch ball at least once. Best time counts
as “Team Break Time.”

Place Scoring (5 teams):


1st. Place = 5 points.
2nd. Place = 4 points.
3rd. Place = 3 points.
4th. Place = 2 points.
5th. Place = 1 point.
