Characteristic Derivation

Segment Table - FAGL_SEGM

Characteristic "SEGMENT" is derived from T.code: KEDR from Profit-center master data.

If you need the segment data for already posted CO-PA docs, try line item reposting (KE4S, KE4SFI,...);
Maybe it’s necessary (depending on the number of line items) to use RKECADL1 (SAPNET 126937,
1405404).

Other possibility is to use the realignment functionality T.code: KEND to add the segment information
to CO-PA data posted before the new characteristic is used.

Deleting Characteristics

Transaction KECM Click on where used list and from here you can remove characteristic. Please be
careful while performing this action as it can lead to inconsistency in system. After and before deleting
the characteristic kindly use KEA0 to regenerate the operating concern. After you add the new
characteristic you can use KEND to realign the historical data of COPA with the new characteristic.

Characteristic limit is 50 SAP notes 160892.

Sap does not recommend adding so many characteristics as it might bring down the performance of
your system depending on the table CE1, CE2, CE3, and CE4.

In order to delete a characteristic from the operating concern you can follow the steps described in the
online documentation (transaction ORKE):
4. In order to be able to select the fields of the data structure,
choose: Extras -> Characteristics (or Value fields) -> Unlock.

5. Select the characteristics and value fields to be deleted and remove

them from the data structure with the "Reset fields" function.

If you want to delete this characteristic afterwards in transaction KEA5, too, you first have to check
whether it is still used in other operating concerns.
You can check this in transaction KEA5 via menu: > Edit > Auxiliary Functions > Where-used.

In transaction KEA5 you can delete any characteristic that is not used in any operating concern.
