Family resilience has been defined as the ability to bounce back and withstand
Being in a strong family involves a set of traits, it comes with various values and
structures, and how every member in the family supports each other. My family has
gone through hard times such as; closing of the businesses, which has forced us to sell
assets (our house), while both parents must raise their kids at the same time. Therefore,
resilience is more about relational support from each member of the family. We always
have had hope and patients during our dark times, which we have never give up and its
important to fail in life it teaches you to withstand. Does communication develop family
resilience?
Over the years, I have struggled with mental health due to what society and
culture have imposed upon me. The culture, who have criticized me or judged my
personality. I have been always worried of the criticism I face sometimes. The people
who used to be around me, always implied negative thoughts in my mind, that they
have no hope in me and my siblings are doing way better than me. In the article ‘Bright
Quest’ states ‘Family members are essential components in the process of healing
mental illness’ (Ellis 2019) which I believe it true, However the only problem I have with
this statement is, that its always hard to talk to family members on what is going on in
your mind, how do you overcame or deal with mental illness?. Isn’t that situation same
as the movie farewell, I decide to keep my dark times within my self, rather than
