Earthquake Emergency Protocol

PURPOSE:
All employees should be safe during and after earthquakes. It is the responsibility of the
company to ensure the safety of all employees during disasters.

PROTOCOL:
1. Management and Support Services Department should conduct mini earthquake drills
every six months.
2. Support Services Department should make sure that there is ample emergency and
first aid supplies.
3. Support Services Department should make sure that there are clear exit and
emergency signs to guide employees during emergencies.
4. Support Services Department should make sure that the emergency exit is always free
from any obstructions and all the emergency lights are functioning.
5. During earthquakes, employees should stop whatever they are doing and do the
“Duck, Cover and Hold”
6. After the initial earthquake, Head Coaches, Team Leaders, Supervisors are in-charge
of leading their respective team members to the designated assembly area (Maripola
parking area for minor earthquakes and Ayala Triangle for major earthquakes).
7. Managers or Supervisors should first get a safety clearance (verbal) from
Maripola’s facilities manager before they instruct the employees to go back to
the office.
8. Should Maripola decides not to let tenants to go back to their respective offices,
API will implement its Emergency Staffing Plan.

10. In API’s Earthquake Staffing Plan, a skeletal team will stay to resume online
operations. The Skeletal Team will be composed of the following:

b. Operations Manager
c. Operations Supervisor
d. Team Leader/ Head Coach (Online)
e. Four (4) Online Coaches (AM/PM- Predetermined staff)
f. One (1) IT Officer
11. They will resume operations at the Ground Floor Office.
12. Management will ask employees to sign a waiver.
13. Hazard pay will be given to all remaining staff (paid as incentive/ tax free)
a. Supervisory Staff- Php 3,000
b. Rank and File Staff- Php 2,000
14. All other departments or teams will go home.
15. TC Team will instruct the ABC Trainees to go to their respective hotels.
16. Management should exercise prudence should the situation gets worse and
stop operations.
17. Head Coaches, Team Leaders, Supervisors are in-charge of reporting interrupted or
missed classes to the head office in Japan. They are also responsible for re-scheduling
classes.

18. The GM/ HR Manager is responsible for checking the condition of all the employees
inside and outside the office, working or not. The GM/ HR Manager will send a group
text message to all employees and it is the responsibility of each employee to reply
individually to the text message and inform the GM/ HR Manager about their current
condition.
