Professor Dr Wan Faisham Wan Ismail, Malaysia

Prof Wan Faisham is a faculty in the department of orthopaedics, in School of Medical
Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has sub-specialized in musculoskeletal oncology and
traumatology. Currently he is one of the leaders in the field of oncology applicable to
sarcomas in Malaysia. He obtained his medical graduation from the National University of
Malaysia in 1994. Subsequently completed his post-graduation from Medical School of
Universiti Sains Malaysia in year 2000.

He is a Professor and consultant surgeon in USM, he was involved with numerous clinical
research and multidisciplinary collaboration in oncology. For his contributions he was
awarded 5-distinguished awards and became the International advisor to Asian Pacific
Musculoskeletal Oncology Society. Prof Faisham published more than 70 research papers in
medical journals and 3 text-books related to his field. He is currently an active member of
the school board in USM and a member of the examinations for the National Orthopaedics
Board. He has been serve Malaysian Orthopaedic Association as executive member for 5
years and past president of MOA.
