• 1947 - 2.40 %
• In 1990 India’s export share in world trade was 0.13% this was because of
inward looking policy of self-reliance and exporting only the surplus. The
balance of payment crisis in 1991 rightly brought about a change in India’s
economic philosophy. Hence trade policy was liberalized in 1991
• Till 2003 our share in world trade was (0.67%)
• In 2010 share was 1.35% (Double in 7 years)
• In 2016 export share was 1.65% (source WTO)
