Pedro Páramo

This novel, who was written by Juan Rulfo, one the most important writer of Latin American in
last century, depicts about death, Mexican revolution, and ghosts.

First of all, this story is about Juan Preciado, Pedro Paramo’s son and the main character, lose
his mother and she tells him that he must look for his father, saying him: “it’s high time to your
father will be punished”.

As the story goes, Juan Preciado arrive at Coloma, a small and creepy village, where, few by few,
Juan realizes that every person who meet in his path, is dead.

At the same time, in this novel there’s another story: Pedro Páramo and his last moments in the
same village. All the people hates him, due to he was rich and abusive with them. In middle of
this, people starts the social revolution in Mexico.

In my opinion, it’s a great novel about the social situation in Latin America in the last century, as
well as, a tremendous description about death and what everyone feels when dies.
