Two Smart Uncles Bopping to the Beat

A Short Story

by No one in particular

Gary Giantbulb was thinking about Tom Barlow again. Tom was a gracious academic with greasy fingers
and squat lips.

Gary walked over to the window and reflected on his idyllic surroundings. He had always loved beautiful
Bangkok with its wandering, weary waters. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel sparkly.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the a gracious figure of Tom Barlow.

Gary gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a selfish, clever, tea drinker with fragile fingers
and hairy lips. His friends saw him as a misty, massive monster. Once, he had even helped an uncooked
chicken recover from a flying accident.

But not even a selfish person who had once helped an uncooked chicken recover from a flying accident,
was prepared for what Tom had in store today.

The hail pounded like cooking owls, making Gary stable. Gary grabbed a stripy guillotine that had been
strewn nearby; he massaged it with his fingers.

As Gary stepped outside and Tom came closer, he could see the flat smile on his face.

"Look Gary," growled Tom, with a violent glare that reminded Gary of gracious rabbits. "It's not that I
don't love you, but I want a fight. You owe me 2700 pounds."

Gary looked back, even more stable and still fingering the stripy guillotine. "Tom, what's up Doc," he
replied.

They looked at each other with anxious feelings, like two frantic, fluttering flamingos swimming at a very
understanding dinner party, which had jazz music playing in the background and two smart uncles
bopping to the beat.
Suddenly, Tom lunged forward and tried to punch Gary in the face. Quickly, Gary grabbed the stripy
guillotine and brought it down on Tom's skull.

Tom's greasy fingers trembled and his squat lips wobbled. He looked ambivalent, his wallet raw like a
happy, high hawk.

Then he let out an agonising groan and collapsed onto the ground. Moments later Tom Barlow was
dead.

Gary Giantbulb went back inside and made himself a nice cup of tea.
