Cause
Mastercam is conflicting with Microsoft® products and an Intel® graphics driver, which can result in a crash scenario for users with
certain system configurations. The crash only appears to be happening with these versions of Mastercam:
Mastercam 2019
Mastercam 2020
The following need to be installed on a system to experience the crash:
Microsoft Windows 10
Solution
Currently, there is no solution to the problem. We have several workarounds that will help make a system experiencing this
problem more stable, but until our investigation with Microsoft is complete, we do not know what is causing this conflict. It is very
important to enable AutoSave in File > Configuration > Files > AutoSave / Backup.
1. Disable the Intel graphics card in system BIOS. This is not possible on all systems.
2. Install Version 21 or earlier of the Intel Graphics driver. The current driver version can be found under
Programs and Features under the Intel Graphics Driver entry. This driver can be found on system
manufacturers' websites. Dell, for example, archives several releases of every driver listed under the service
3. Disable thumbnail generation in Windows. This will prevent the crash, but will also not allow part file or bitmap
4. Rename "groove.exe" or "grooveex.dll". Windows Update will try to restore these files, so this is only a
