Meal: Bake Salmon with Lemon Zest and Dill

Rationale:

A high-caloric diet is a meal plan with extra calories. This diet is a need if you have certain health
conditions that increase your body's need for calories. Some of these health conditions include
cancer, HIV, AIDS, wounds (such as ulcers and burns), and malnutrition. You may also need to
follow this diet after a surgery or illness. The extra calories will help you gain weight and have
more energy.

AIDS is a wasting disease, thus we decided to give our patient a high caloric diet.

So, eating salmon can increases the cardiovascular health of a patient. Salmon contains high levels
of the omega-3 fats, EPA and DHA. These fats are responsible for many cardiovascular benefits
such as reducing inflammation. When eaten two to three times per week, salmon can protect you
from problems such as heart attack, stroke, arrhythmia, high blood pressure and high triglycerides.

Salmon can also help prevent cell damage. Along with its many vitamins and high protein content,
salmon is an excellent source of selenium, a mineral is that works as an antioxidant in the body. It
is associated with decreased risk of joint inflammation, keeps the immune system and thyroid
working well, and can help to keep tissues healthy by preventing cell damage.

Salmon was chosen as the main source of protein in our dish because it is rich in omega 3 and is
relatively softer to chew on than meat. Lemon brings flavour to the dish and dill is a very good
source of manganese, calcium and iron, it is also an antioxidant and antiviral. This dish has mashed
potato which is rich in calories, butter which contains dairy and milk.

Asparagus reduces urinary tract infections and high blood cholesterol. A pinch of pepper and salt
was added to the mashed potatoes because pepper can dramatically increase absorption of
selenium, vitamin B and beta-carotene as well as other nutrients and salt is essential for the
regulation of blood pressure, balances sugar levels in the blood and clears the lungs of mucus
plugs and sticky phlegm.
