SPORTS BOARD

Role Descriptor
As a member of the Sports Board you will take an active role in organizing the
various committees and be involved in the decision-making process for the
SEPEP season.

Tasks / Duties may include


- Assuring that the season runs smoothly day-to-day
- Weekly contact with the various committees
- Check competition schedule prior to the competition
- Manage culminating event
- Work closely with the tutor to ensure the season is rewarding for all
- Making decisions regarding fair play violations
- In conjunction with both the Fixtures and Selection committees decide
on the conduct and procedural rules for the SEPEP season
- In conjunction with both the Fixtures and Selection committees decide
on the game modifications for the SEPEP season including size of court,
number of players in a team and equipment to be used

FIXTURES
Role Descriptor
As a member of the Fixtures Committee you will take an active role in
providing the fixtures for the SEPEP season working along-side the Selection
Committee.

Tasks / Duties may include


- Making decisions regarding fixtures
- Provide a variety of different fixture formats for the SEPEP season
- Ensure the fixtures are fair
- In conjunction with the other committee’s roster duty teams for
equipment, refereeing etc.
- Post all relevant information regarding the season via Publicity
Committee.

RECORDS
Role Descriptor
As member of the Records Committee you will take an active role in
maintaining the records for the SEPEP season.

Tasks / Duties may include


- In conjunction with the Festivities Committee decide what aspects of the
SEPEP season will be acknowledge and recognised throughout the
season and at the End of Season Event.
- Maintain a true and accurate record of events for the SEPEP season
- Post all relevant information regarding the season via the Publicity
Committee

- Ability to cooperate with publicity committee and Sports Board to
ensure the competition is kept up to date
- Ability to be fair, responsible and impartial

- Computing skills to record and update results, summaries, ladders, etc
PUBLICITY
A notice board or intranet must be made available to publicise all information
regarding SEPEP.
Publicity are the point of communication between all players and other
committees
Fixture for the season need to be posted as soon as they are formulated
Photos and names of the teams should be displayed
Results of each round's matches should be posted on the SEPEP notice board
Match and training reports should be completed on a weekly basis and may
include short match summaries, highlights and game statistics

- Obtaining posters of the sport chosen


- Taking photographs of the teams in pre-season training nd posting early
- Making sure school newsletters have a SEPEP section
- Integrating work with other curriculum areas
- Interviewing selected students during the season
- Attempting a live broadcast of one of the games

SELECTION
Role Descriptor
As a member of the Selection Committee you will take an active role in
selecting and monitoring the teams for the SEPEP season.

Tasks / Duties may include


- Making decisions regarding selection
- Provide the selection criteria by which the group will be graded
- Monitor the teams to ensure the teams are fair
- Manage the selection process to cover injury or absence
- Provide an assessment for each player at the end of the season
- Collaborate with publicity committee to publicise all relevant
information

FESTIVITIES
Role Descriptor
As member of the Festivities Committee you will take an active role in
organizing the various End of Season Events and be involved making the SEPEP
season festive. Some of these decisions may be made together with the Sports
Board Committee

Tasks / Duties may include


- Design promotional material for display promoting the SEPEP season
- Preview the week’s coming games
- Provide written reports regarding players and teams performances
throughout the SEPEP season
- Capture and send photographs of the competitors and their teams to
the Publicity Committee
- Promote the SEPEP Season
