Troubleshooting Expired JAVA Certificates on Systems with CPB50x

Purpose of this documentation

This information is for users who have PSS 5000 systems with CPB50x being met with an Application Blocked message, which results in this
boards that run PSS APPL software released before June 27, 2018. functionality being blocked.
The JAVA certificates in these applications have expired, and as a result The following procedure describes a workaround to solve this problem
of this it is no longer possible to start a Peep (menu 5.4 Peep) without and get access to the Peep functionality again.

Add the PSS URL to the Java Exception List When you launch the Peep applet you will see the
following security warning
1. Open the Windows Control Panel on your PC and display the
Large Icon view.
2. Select the Java icon and open the Java Control Panel.
3. In the Java Control Panel, select the Security tab.
4. Locate the Exception Site List and click Edit Site List.
5. Click Add and then in the new field that appears in the Loca-
tion column type in the IP address for the PSS.
6. Click OK. A security warning appears.
7. Click Continue to accept the new location.
8. In the Java Control Panel, click OK to continue. Accepting this application allows JAVA to accept the expired
certificate used by the PSS system and the Peep to start normally.
You can now use the Peep functionality again.
