2 ABAQUS Software

ABAQUS is a suite of powerful engineering simulation programs based on the finite

element method. The software application contains library of elements that can model a

structure, import structures from many different CAD software packages, could use

various materials to simulate different engineering materials such as metals, rubber,

polymers, composites, reinforced concrete, crushable and resilient foams, and

geotechnical materials such as soils and rock. Designed as a general-purpose simulation

tool, ABAQUS can be used to study more than just structural problems

(stress/displacement), it can be used in other areas such static and dynamic analysis,

linear and non-linear applications and such.

ABAQUS is a set of efficient engineering model design grounded on the fixed element process. It

contains of collection of components that can represent a structure, could utilize several resources

to replicate different engineering materials such as, rubber, metals, composites, polymers,

reinforced concrete, resilient and crushable foams, and geotechnical materials like rock and soils,

lastly, carry structures from many different CAD software packages. It was made for basic purposes

reproduction device, also can be used in static and dynamic analysis, linear and non-linear

applications and the like.
