2 Check the operation of the chain brake (front hand-guard).
3 Check the security of casing, nuts and screws, also operation
of the throttle and interlock.

Refuelling the chainsaw

1 Refuel in a well-ventilated area (outdoors only).

2 Don’t refuel within 3 meters of where you are going to use the saw and wipe off any split fuel.
3 No naked flames, smoking or fires nearby.
4 Check for fuel cap on the chainsaw to avoid leakage

Safe use of chainsaws

1 Wear PPE, including leggings made of long-fibre, chain-clogging fabric.

2 Before starting the saw, engage the chain brake and place on the ground clear of any obstructions.
3 Don’t make adjustments to the saw while the engine is running.
4 Grip the chainsaw firmly with both hands
5 Begin cutting and continue at full throttle.
6 Re-enter previous cuts with extreme care.
7 Be aware of moving timber closing the saw cut and pinching the chain.
8 Don’t place your body in the saw’s line of cut
9 Before carrying, switch off, apply chain brake and fit chain guard (scabbard).
10 Carry with the front handle and chain to the rear.
