CONCEPT

The building concept is integrated as part of the entire external connections that open to the street
and allow it to become part of its inner-city environment. Inspired by the unique landscapes of
Australia and the immediate surrounds of Kangaroo Point, Walan embodies the spirit and natural
character of the land.

PERSONAL VIEW
The design maintains the existing heritage building on the
site, with external connections that open to the street and allow it
to become part of the environment.
What we set out to achieve was a ‘Queenslander in the sky’ with
all rooms opening to a veranda edge, providing cross ventilation
while maintaining privacy.
Instead of thinking of them as apartments, we thought of each
floor like a house in its size and connection to the outside.
The screens each face a slightly different angle, which creates
complexity in the design as well as contributing to the individuality
of each residence
Facade material: The metal slats take their colours, a mix of
dusty reds, browns and yellows, from the nearby cliffs, creating a
pattern of gradients across the tower’s elevations.

Bangunan gedung kampus Bina
Nusantara ini juga ramah
lingkungan, terdapatnya hanging
garden secara vertikal dan
bentuk bangunan kotak tak
beraturan secara vertikal tersebut
dapat berfungsi saving energy.
Karena, sinar matahari dan udara
alami masuk ke dalam bangunan
dengan leluasa. Kemudian
didukung oleh desain mekanikal
elektrikal yang dikontrol oleh
Building Automation System
(BAS). Dengan demikian, Main
Campus Bina Nusantara Alam
Sutera berperan dalam
menyediakan kampus yang
nyaman bagi para mahasiswa.

SPECIALLY DESIGNED
SCREEN
Pada Gedung 21 lantai ini, dirancang
dalam bentuk serangkaian kotak-
kotak unik, yang ditumpuk secara
vertikal dan terlihat tak beraturan
yang menjadikan ‘icon’ tersendiri di
kawasan Alam Sutera. Hal tersebut,
melambangkan adanya berbagai
fakultas, jurusan (program studi) dan
ilmu pengetahuan yang ada di
kampus ini.
