Abstract:
Iron content in recycled aluminium is considered to be the impurity since it
deteriorates the properties of cast aluminium. In the present study, reduction of iron in
aluminium turning scrap through element sedimentation and filtration process has been
carried out. Alloying elements such as manganese, strontium and cobalt as micro and nano
particles were added to the molten aluminium alloy. It is observed that Fe has been reduced
with increase in addition of the alloying elements and the properties of recycled alloy have
been increased with the addition of alloying elements.
