counseling for the session 2018-19
Applications in prescribed format are invited from the eligible candidates (as eligibility given in
the PGET-2018 Information Brochure) for admission in 1st semester of M.Tech programmes against
vacant seats through Decentralized Counseling in (1) Production Engineering(PE), (2) Computer Science
& Engineering(CSE), (3) Electronics & Communication Engineering(ECE), (4) Electrical
Engineering(EE) and (5) Information Technology(IT). All programmes are approved by the AICTE and
affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) [Formerly West Bengal
University of Technology (WBUT)]. Application format and other details are given below:

B. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH APPLICATION

viii) A sponsored candidate must have one year experience in Polytechnic/Engineering
College/Industry as on 30th June, 2018. A sponsored candidate must submit the Letter of
Sponsorship from the Employer/Authorized person of his/her parent organization. It should be
mentioned clearly in the letter that he/she will be granted leave with pay for the complete period
of the course.

C) SELECTION PROCEDURE:

a) Merit list will be prepared on the basis of PGET – 2018 rank

b) Vacancies against reserved categories will be maintained as per govt. rules.

D) IMPORTANT DATE:

a) Submission of Application Form : Latest by 17th August, 2018 upto 4.30 p.m.

b) Merit List will be published on 18th August after 4.00 p.m.

c) Date of Counseling : 20th August, 2018 at 11.30 a.m. at the New Academic
Cum Administrative building of the institute
d) Date of Admission : 20th August, 2018 at 11.30 a.m. just after counseling at
the New Academic Cum Administrative building of the
college

F) DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION:

b) ORIGINAL CHARACTER CERTIFICATE from the Head of the institution last attended (keep
one attested photocopy with your own custody)

c) IN CASE OF BREAK OF STUDIES, a self declaration certificate to be submitted by the student,

countersigned by the guardian
d) DOMICILE CERTIFICATE : The Domicile Certificate as applicable should be obtained from any of the following
competent authorities (i) District Magistrate, (ii) Additional District Magistrate, (iii) Deputy Magistrate and Deputy
Collector, (iv) Sub-Divisional Officer, (v) Block Development Officer, (vi) Superintendent of Police , (vii) Additional
Superintendent of Police, (viii) Sub-Divisional Police Officer or Deputy Superintendent of Police, (ix) Commissioner,
Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Police
Commissionerate , (x) Judicial Magistrate of any rank or position in the concerned district of Metropolitan locality or
Judges/Judicial Officers of Hon’ble High Court at Kolkata or Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, (xi) Commissioner,

 Joint Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, (xii) Assistant
Secretary /equivalent or above in the Secretariat to the Government. of West Bengal (including GTA) or Central
Government , (xiii) Deputy Director or above in the Directorate to the Government of West Bengal or Central
Government (xiv) Head of the institution from which the candidate has passed in 10+2 examination. Such certificate
must be issued after verification of the school education record of the candidate and must be mentioned that the
candidate has been living and studying in the State of West Bengal at least for the last ten(10) years as on 30.12.2017.

e) ORIGINAL MIGRATION CERTIFICATE - Students who are studying in any College affiliated to
University other than Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology(MAKAUT) [Formerly West
Bengal University of Technology (WBUT)] need to submit self-attested photo copies of Migration
Certificate during admission, but he/she has to submit original Migration Certificate at the time of
registration.

f) 2(TWO) COPIES OF STAMP SIZE COLOURED PHOTOGRAPH without attestation with full
signature on the back side

g) FITNESS CERTIFICATE for General Health & Eye to be produced from a Registered Medical
Practitioner. The Certificate of Blood Group is to be obtained from a authorized laboratory and
submitted during admission

h) All the eligible candidates for GATE Scholarship should open a Bank Account at any SBI branch.
Attested photo copy of 1st page of the said bank pass book, where his/her name, account no. and other
details are printed, is to be submitted to college office at the time of admission.

i) Students need to submit TWO affidavits as per Annexure-I and Annexure-II in a non-judicial
stamp paper of Rs. 10/- before an Oath Commissioner

N.B.: Affidavits may be submitted within 7(seven) days from the date of admission.

ADMISSION TO HOSTEL

Hostel Facilities : Hostel seats are limited.

Procedure for admission : Intending students may be admitted into hostel at the time of college
admission. For that purpose, they have to deposit the following amount:

a) For Boys Hostel : a DD of ` 13,000/- in favour of “KGEC-TYPE-IV (T. A)” payable at Kolkata
b) For Girls Hostel : a DD of ` 13,000/- in favour of “KGEC-Pritilata Chhatrinibas Fund” payable at Kolkata
(N.B: ` 13,000/- = ` 1000/- for Caution money deposit + ` 12,000/- for advance mess deposit for six months)
