What is work study?

Work study is the system of assessing the

methods of working so as to achieve the
maximum output and efficiency.

Work study is the investigation of the work

done in an organization/factory by means of
a consistent system, in order to attain the
best possible use of men, machines and
materials at present available conditions.

In another way work study may be defined as

–“The systematic, objective, critical and
imaginative examination of all factors
governing the operational efficiency of any
specified activity in order to effect
improvement.”
