e. Motivation
f. Presentation of the topic
Our topic for today is all about the -okay ma’am.
Technology in teaching and learning.

But before we proceed, everybody read (students reading the objectives)

our lesson’s objectives.
 Lesson Proper
Our topic for today is all about, the ISTE (students raise their hands)
or the International Society for
Technology in Education. Who has any
idea about ISTE? By simply reading the
definition of ISTE? - I think Ma’am it’s all about the
involvement of Technology in
Yes Marry Ann. Education.

Yes, very good. Thank you Mary Ann.

ISTE is a non-profit organization that

helps teachers and educational leaders
connect with each other to advancing
excellence in learning and teaching
through innovative and effective uses of
technology.
(students raise their hand)
Why do you think ISTE is a non-profit
organization?
- Ma’am I think it a non-profit
Yes Reah. organization because the organization
keeps on giving without waiting for
something in return.

Very Good. Thank you Reah.

ISTE is a non-profit organization because
it has organized purposes other than
generating profit.

When we have our projects, our

assignments, even reportings or (students raise their hands)
demonstrations, we have different
standards. Now class, why do you think
standards are needed in doing projects,
assignments, or even in reportings?

Yes Erah. - Ma’am it important for us to have

standards for us to know if what are
the things we must achieve and for us
to be contented of our work.

Very Good Erah. Thank you.

It’s just like “the way I want it” and it
turns out to be perfect for you. You
always make sure that in doing such
things, you will your standards. In the end
it will give you contentment.

Do you understand class? - Yes Ma’am.

In ISTE we also have standards.

We have Standards for Administrators,
Standards for Teachers and Standards for
Students.
Let us first discuss the Standards for
Administrators.

Administrators are the lead supporters of

digital and technology-rich teaching and
learning environment.
When we say administrators, those are
the people who administer or who work
as managers, in the business or even in
government agencies or schools. Under
the standards for administrators, we have
visionary leadership, digital learning age
culture, excellence in professional
practice, systematic improvement, and
digital citizenship.

First the visionary leadership. Everyone (students starts reading)

please read the definition.

Based on what you’ve read? What do you

think is the implication of visionary (students raise their hands)
leadership?

Yes Ms. Reyes - Based on what we’ve read ma’am,

visionary leadership inspiring and
leading the students to use
technology in transforming education.

Very Good Ms. Reyes.

Visionary leadership. Leadership. As we
all know, leadership is a social influence
to others. As administrators, you will be
the one to motivate, inspire, lead, and
even engage to implement the use of
technology in education aligned to the
vision.

Second we have the digital learning age

culture.
As administrators, you will model and
promote the frequent and effective use
of technology for learning. You will
create, promote, and sustain a dynamic,
digital-age learning culture that provides
a rigorous, relevant, and engaging
education for all students.

Third is the excellence in professional

practice.
You will promote and model effective
communication and collaboration among
stakeholders using digital age tools.

Fourth is the systematic improvement. (students starts reading)

Who wants to read?

What can you say about it? (students starts explaining)

Thank you. Very good.
Educational Administrators will provide
digital age leadership and management
to continuously improve the organization
through the effective use of information
and technology resources.

The last one is the digital citizenship.

Everyone please read. (students starts reading)

Digital citizenship is where Educational

Administrators model and facilitate
understanding of social, ethical and legal
issues and responsibilities related to an
evolving digital culture. They will
promote, model and establish policies for
safe, legal, and ethical use of digital
information and Technology. Digital
Citizenship is a concept which helps
teachers, technology leaders and parents
to understand what
students/children/technology users
should know to use technology
appropriately. Digital Citizenship is more
than just a teaching tool; it is a way to
prepare students/technology users for a
society full of technology.

T R A N S I T I O N

Okay class, by the way I’m Ricky T.

Padawan. I will give emphasis on ISTE
standards for teachers and students.

Understood? -Yes sir!

In teachers, there are five standards:

1. Facilitate and inspire students
learning and creativity it is the
teachers inspire students to be
creative and innovative thinkers,
to develop student’s inventive
skills, and to enhance their ability
in knowledge construction.
2. Design and develop digital age
learning experiences and
assessments - teachers design and
develop technology-enriched
learning experiences, activities,
and assessments to enable
students experience authentic and
improved learning.
3. Promote and model digital
citizenship and responsibility –
teachers promote and model the
appropriate and responsible use
of technologies which are parallel
with the legal and ethical use of
digital and technological
information, tools, and systems.
4. Engage in professional growth
and leadership – teachers
endlessly enhance and improve
their knowledge and skills by
participating in seminars,
trainings, and workshops on the
effective use of digital and
technological information, tools
and resources, to enable them to
contribute to the services that the
school and community may need.

Now, do you have any questions for the

ISTE standards for the teacher? -None so far, sir!

Good, let’s proceed to the ISTE standards

for students.

1. Design and develop digital

age learning experiences
and assessments -
teachers design and
develop technology-
enriched learning
experiences, activities, and
assessments to enable
students experience
authentic and improved
learning.
2. Promote and model
digital citizenship and
responsibility – teachers
promote and model the
appropriate and
responsible use of
technologies which are
parallel with the legal and
ethical use of digital and
technological information,
tools, and systems.
3. Engage in professional
growth and leadership –
teachers endlessly
enhance and improve their
knowledge and skills by
participating in seminars,
trainings, and workshops
on the effective use of
digital and technological
information, tools and
resources, to enable them
to contribute to the
services that the school
and community may need.
T R A NS I TI O N
Hi class! I’m Teacher Albert Mamusog. I
will be the one to discuss
TECHNOLOGICAL PEDAGOGICAL
CONTENT KNOWLEDGE (TPACK)
AND TECHNOLY INTEGRATION -Yes sir!
PLANNING (TIP)

Teaching can be associated with soldiers

who go to war. Soldiers are being trained
and they make a lot of preparations.
Before going to war, they plan for the
tactics and strategies to be done.

Now, let’s go to Technological

Pedagogical Content Knowledge (Tech-
PACK)

Tech-PACK, previously known as TPCK

later TPACK, is a framework that
integrates technology in education to
help encapsulate the complex
interactions among content, pedagogy,
and Technology.

Understood?

There are three (3) main components of

teacher’s Knowledge

First, Content Knowledge (CK) it is

teacher’s knowledge about the subject
matter.
Second, Pedagogical Knowledge (PK) it is
Teacher’s deep knowledge about the
process and practices or methods of
teaching and learning. It includes, lesson
-yes sir!
plan, classroom management skills.
Third, Technology Knowledge (TK) means
understanding of technology which is
beyond the definition of computer
Literacy is a must in TK.
-none sir!
Do you have questions class?

T R A N S I T I O N

Hi class! I’m Edjean Brix Abueva, just call

-Yes, Sir Brix.
me Sir Brix. Understood?

By the way, I will be the one to discuss

the phases on planning technology
integration.

There are three (3) phases including

-yes sir!
seven (7) steps. Understood?

Okay, the first phase is Analysis of

Learning and Teaching Needs steps under
in phase 1 is step 1. Determine relative
advantage. Heraclitus once said that
nothing is permanent in this world except
change. However, change may be
acceptable if they would understand the
advantages of the new method over the
old one. Step 2. Asses Tech-PACK.
Teachers have to be proficient in content,
pedagogy and technology before the day
of instruction comes.
The teacher has to spend time in
understanding all the components of
knowledge to have a better and successful
delivery of the lesson. This Tech-PACK
helps to emphasize technology
contribution to teaching.

Another phase is phase 2. Planning for

Integration. Step 3. Decide on objectives,
assessments. The problems that have
been identified in phase 1 must be
addressed successfully by defining
observable and measurable outcomes.
Teachers must remember that having
more than the multiple choice activities is
better to effectively see authentic learning
among learners. Step 4. Design
Integration Strategies In deciding on the
instructional course of action, the
characteristics of the topic and the needs
of the students are being taken into
consideration. Step 5. Prepare
Instructional Environment With the
support of International Society for
Technology in Education (ISTE) the
teachers will be guided in setting the
essentials standard the potential
technology tools and methods when used
in teaching and learning.

Last phase is phase 3. Post Instruction

Analysis and Revisions
Step 6. Analyze results
What worked well? What could be
improved? Teachers have to spend time
reflecting and assessing themselves to
determine whether the integration of
technology. Step 7. Make results After the
results, it is important to determine the
necessary areas which need improvement
for better execution of instruction with
technology integration the next time
around.

Do you have further questions about the

phases on planning technology
integration? -None so far, sir!

 Group activity
Okay class, I will be divided you into two
(2) groups. This will be the group one and
of course this will be the group two.

All you have to do is to dramatize an

educational setting about Technology in
Teaching and Learning. I will give you 5
minutes to practice with your groups,
understood? -yes sir!

But before you proceed to your group.

Kindly read the criteria for judging.
Criteria for Judging
Teamwork 25% (students reading the Criteria)
Organization 25%
Content 25%
creativity 25%
total 100%

Okay times up! Everybody settle down.

The first presenter of course the group
one then the group two. Understood? -yes sir!

(presentation of the activity) (presentation of the activity)

A round of applause for everyone! (students clapping)

 Generalization
Presenting Technology in learning and
teaching is very significant to our present
because technology in the 21st century are
rampant. We must give emphasis on the
technology especially in utilizing the
technology in the teaching and learning.
By that, we can manifest and utilize
technology effectively in teaching-
learning process.

Understood? -yes sir!

 Application
 Evaluation
Get ½ sheet of paper crosswise. Put name,
date for today and subject. Are you done? -yes sir.

Before you start answering. Kindly read

the direction. (students read the direction)

Directions: Explain/discuss the following

questions (5pts. Each)

1. What is ISTE?
2. Explain the three standards
develop by the ISTE?
3. Discuss the Phases on planning
technology integration.
At the count of ten (10) late papers will not
be accepted. 10 9 8…….1.

Kindly go back to your seats properly.

(students settled down)
 Assignment
For your assignment. Get your assignment
notebook and copy your assignment.

But before that, everybody read the

direction.

Directions: in a short bond paper make a

collage emphasizing the technology in
teaching and learning. (students read the directions)

Are you done? -yes sir!

 Closure
Everybody stand up, goodbye class! -goodbye and thank you sir Abueva!
