RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests include but are not limited to the following:
• Power Systems & Electronics: Phasor measurement units, power distribution, high voltage DC
transmission, fault diagnosis, power electronic converters, renewable energy sources, energy storing devices.
• Embedded Systems & Brain Computer Interfaces (BCIs): Brain controlled robots and wheel
chairs, use of machine learning in brain Computer interfaces, wireless communication of brain waves.
• Control Systems: use of control systems in power electronics, mechatronics & robotics, modern control
theory & methods, applications in electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Electromagnetics & Communication Systems: transmission channels, 5G communication, Inter-
net of things, wireless communication, antenna design, microwaves, electromagnetic field theory.

PROJECTS
• Constant velocity conveyor belt using feedback Mechanism Ongoing - Fall’19
The project aims at building a prototype for a conveyor belt that moves at a fixed speed for any amount
of load it has to carry on it.
• Approximating transition probability with Frank-Hertz experiment Ongoing since 2018
This is a physics project that involves studying data from Frank-Hertz experiment and relating it to the
transition probabilities of electrons in neon atoms.
• Purification of water using electric bacteria Water distribution problem February’19
Completed this project for a university and city conference, where I explained how especial kinds of electric
bacteria can be used to purify water and proposed efficient methods of water distribution domestically.
• Autonomous line following shooting robot with self fabricated driver module Spring’19
Made a completely autonomous robot using sensors a Micro-Controller to detect & follow a specific path&
designed a high powered driver module to get sufficient power for the motors of the robot.
• ”HAWAI FIRING” - Game developed using C++ and SDL2 library Fall’18
Implemented object oriented programming and C++ skills to make this game which was inspired from
basic bubble shooting games.
• Analyzed brain waves using EEG(Electroencephalography) with 10-20 protocol Fall’17
Learnt collection, categorization and specification of brain waves at Karachi University with a physics
professor. Analyzed common patterns of brain activity by recording it for different people.
• Clap on/off switch for Smart Automated switching Spring’18
Used basic sound sensors and electric components to make this switch to reduce mobility and effectively
turn on high powered devices.

Presented my proposition to solve local water distribution problems in front of the local water board
authorities which formed the jury for this competition.
• Second Position in Hult-Prize Competition’18 (City Level round) November’19
Presented my start up idea to reduce food wastage effectively in this entrepreneurial competition.
