Three Natural/Man-Made Systems in
Polomolok
● Mt. Matutum – active volcano rich in
basalt and igneous rocks, flora, and
fauna
● DOLE Pineapple Plantation – situated
at the foot of Mt. Matutum, composed of
pineapples, soil, fertilizers, workers, etc.
● Cornfields in Polomolok – consists of
corn plants, soil, fertilizers, workers, etc.

Sustainability of these living

● Carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorous cycles in
trees, plants, and animals that live in Mt.
Matutum
● Safe volcanic activity that supports soil
fertility for DOLE pineapple farms and
cornfields
● Decomposition of dead plants and breaking
down of nutrients and minerals in animal
and human wastes
