Cadet Impact Goals:

1. Train and certify 25 cadets in color guard regulations by 1 February 2020. Advertise, recruit and train
cadets using internal Corps communications and conduct training twice per week. Menchville High
School AFJROTC color guard team is well known in the local community and are regularly requested to
perform in school and community events. All training and performances will be documented in WINGS.

2. Earn the Distinguished Unit Award with Merit. Achieve "Exceeds Standards" on 9 March 2020 unit
evaluation and meet all higher headquarters suspense. Accomplish two-unit self-inspections and
implement corrective actions prior to unit evaluation. Complete a minimum average of 12 community
service hours per cadet (2,208 hours). Provide monthly updates to cadet and instructor staff on all fix
actions.

3. Promote and maintain academic success for all AFJROTC cadets and achieve an average 2.5 GPA in
core subject areas by the 15 February 2020. Encourage cadets to self-identify for tutoring. Instructor
staff will also identify cadets who need additional assistance to the Kitty Hawk Air Society. Kitty Hawk
Air Society will establish a twice per week tutoring sessions and document attendance in WINGS.

4. Establish and maintain a Corps Participation rate of 25% in Leadership Development Requirements
(LDR) activities by 1 January 2020. Utilize a sustained information campaign to recruit and retain a
combined total of 46 cadets in all LDR activities. Flight mentors will develop strategies and incentives to
encourage participation in all LDR activities. Corps participation rates will be calculated at the end of
each month using the Unit Event History module in WINGS. Adjust recruiting strategies as necessary to
meet and exceed participation goals.

5. Evaluate initial Presidential Fitness Test scores and implement physical fitness plans to improve cadet
fitness. Design weekly workout sessions to challenge cadets while improving their overall wellness.
Compare scores and encourage cadets to obtain a minimum of 1 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze Presidential
Fitness Awards by 1 June 2020. Overall performances will be reflected in second Presidential Fitness
Assessment completed at the end of the school year.

School Impact Goals (include 1 Recruiting Goal):


1. Contribute to Menchville High School Lead-2-Feed program by collecting a minimum of 1,000 cans of
food by 1 April 2020. Conduct a food drive in conjunction with the annual Bataan Memorial March held
in early spring. Cans of food will be used in the annual "Canstruction" event at the mall and eventually
donated to the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank. Document Bataan March in WINGS and provide Menchville
Activity director with a can count/weight receipt from the Food Bank.
2. Gain 80 freshman cadets through recruiting campaigns and middle school visits by 1 April 2020.
Awareness Presentation Team (APT) will establish a schedule to produce and disseminate recruiting
material to middle school guidance counselors. Additionally, the APT will coordinate with feeder middle
school principals to make presentations to showcase how AFJROTC prepares students to be College,
Career and Citizen Ready. Track visits using WINGS and provide copies of recruiting material in the APT
Continuity Binder.

3. Improve school appearance through 10 Litter Walks by 1 April 2020. Coordinate with Menchville High
School Facilities team to organize monthly trash sweeps around the school. Walks will be conducted on
days when activity buses are available to increase cadet participation and each litter walk will be
documented in WINGS.

Community Impact Goals


1. Conduct 4 POW/MIA ceremonies for local community organizations by 1 April 2020. Hampton Roads
Area has a large retiree community with numerous Veterans Organization that provide numerous
occasions for color guard presentations and POW/MIA ceremonies. Menchville High School AFJROTC
plans to seek out opportunities to be more visible in our community and track completed performances
using WINGS.

2. Partner with American Legion Post 25 to participate in Veterans Day, Memorial Day and Flags on
Graves with no less than 20% of the Corps (37cadets) at each event. These three events are high
visibility community service events and allow Menchville High School AFJROTC to showcase our color
guard and Corp drill and ceremony proficiency. Additionally, cadets meet and network with local city
and state delegates. Attendance will be tracked in WINGS.

3. Perform 3128 community service hours by 1 April 2020. Unit VA-081 has a sustained record for
exceeding minimum community service hour requirements and our goal is seek opportunities to provide
17 hours of community service for each cadet. Kitty Hawk Air Society will find school and community
service events and advertise to all cadets. Information regarding opportunities will also be sent to
parents to increase awareness and to encourage cadets to get involved. 4th Year cadets will track and
publish individual community service hours to each flight.

4. Execute 65 color-guard performances by 1 April 2020. Each year our color guard team receives
numerous requests for performances both in school and the community and all performances will be
tracked in WINGS. With a larger trained color guard team, we will be able to seek out more performance
opportunities.
