Every living organism has same characteristic to be recognise as living
things or biotic. There are 7 characteristic of living organism there are :

a. Movement : Movement is the first characteristic of living things, animal

and even plant are moving either to gain food or gain a proper condition for
them such as light, heat, water, etc.

and survive. Without nutrition living things or biotic will not be able to grow
nor develop.

c. Growth : One of many characteristic in living organism is growth. Baby

will turn into adult as so young plant will grow into adult plant with the
presence of flower or spore.

d. Respiration : Respiration is one of the most important part in living

things, this is because when respiration taking place there will produce
energy inside iif the living things body, this energy later on will use to many
activities that exist inside of living things such grow and develope.

e. Sensitivity : sensitivity make living things able to do adaptation with

their environment. For example, mimosa leaf are closed when there is any
sense of movement touch their leaf. This kind of sensitivity are detected as
a threat for the leaf.

f. Excretion : This terminologies mean throwing any substances that

are not necessary by the bodies such as sweat, urine, faeces, etc.

Explain :

Joint is a place where two bones are meet. We have two main types of joints, there
are Fixed Joints and Moveable Joints.

Ask : anyone can point a fixed joint on your body ?

Example of fixed joint is in the cranium of the skul. The cranium is made up of

jaw bone can move is consist of moveable joints, this joints allow us to chewing food
that entering our mouth.

Question : Named one place in your body where you can find fixed joint, and why
its so important to have fixed joint in this place !

No. of Periods :2
1. Greeting, checking attendance, opening prayer
Opening activities 2. Checking the background knowledge from previous lessons

Explain the other part of joint :

1. Hinge
2. Ball-and-socket

Your shoulder joint can move almost in all directions. You can swing your arm
around in a complete circle. This is because the existence of ball-and-socket joint.
A ball on one bone fits into a socket on the outer. The elbow joint is a hinge joint. It
Main activities can move in only one direction.

3. Structure of movable joint : refer to picture of elbow in pg. 13 and explain

that the friction may occurs in the joint, to reduce the friction there are slippery
material called cartilage and also slippery fluid called synovial fluid to lubricate the
joint and reduce the friction.

Activitiy : Working on the workbook pg. 15 : Breaking bone.
