 Pre-requisites for Excel Add-in
For all editions: pre-requisites are embedded in installation packages. Below is a listing for manual override.

SAP lowest supported release and support package levels:

NetWeaver 7.02 with SP06 as the minimum patch level
SAP PPM 5.0 is SP4
Microsoft Office 2007, 2010, or 2013
Contact PlatinumDB for higher/other MS Office version compatibility
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or 4.0
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office runtime
Contact PlatinumDB for higher version compatibility
Microsoft Redistributable Primary Interop Assemblies, version corresponds to the version of MS Office:
2007 or 2010. Interop Assembly is embedded in Office 2013

 Microsoft/desktop installation
Microsoft installation setup package is shipped or is made available for download.
Execute setup files, one for each Desktop Analyzer edition.

SAP/server installation

Transports or ABAP add-ons

Please see instructions included with shipped transports or SAP ABAP add-ons on where to download the
software. The same download instructions will have other transport import or ABAP add-on installation
instructions.

Desktop Analyzer is made to work on all SAP-supported and in-maintenance versions of SAP
NetWeaver. It may be necessary to move transports with 'Ignore Invalid Component Version' option.
Otherwise inconsequential errors occur during import. Those errors can be ignored if the ignore option
was not used.

Post-transport, manual ABAP stack steps

Web Services Adjustment for Item Planning

If Item Planning edition of Desktop Analyzer is used then for some versions of SAP NetWeaver
platforms, such as 7.31, a manual port-transport step may be required:

Execute report WS_MANUAL_WEBI_AFTER_IMPORT; pass it the transport number of DA:

Item Planning Edition.

ABAP Security setup

Assign appropriate user IDs to proper ABAP roles. The role names are self-explanatory and match
Desktop Analyzer edition:

Z_DA_STAFFING_DOWNLOAD_DISPLAY
Z_DA_STAFFING_UPLOAD_CHANGE
Z_DA_ITEMPLAN_DOWNLOAD_DISPLAY

1. Click on Web Service Administration / Web Service Configuration/Single Service Configuration

 2. Search for the object. (Check names – Appendix A).

3. Click on Service name link (Internal Name). Then click ‘Create Service’ for creating service & endpoint
binding.

 4. Create endpoint binding for each service. (Check details – Appendix A)

5. Enter Service Name, Service description & New Binding name for each service. (Check details –
Appendix A). Then click on ‘Next’.

 6. For all the web services endpoint, check the ‘User Id/ Password’ under ‘Transport Channel
Authentication’. Then click on ‘Next’.

 7. No more changes are required after this. Click on ‘Finish’ to create service & binding.
