Open the second file in the archive i.e ’ 2 – Huawei E1731 Firmware Download (Downgrade) ’ this to/) windows 8 developers preview
will replace your existing firmware and install the unlocked firmware version for your modem. The wallpapers

Also while starting the installation of the unlocked firmware it will ask you for the flash code. Insert
the Flash Code you got calculated by Universal Master Code.
This will take a few minutes and then we move to the next step.
Step 5 :
After Downgrading the firmware. Remove the device from you computer. Now Install Huawei Mobile
Partner, which is the third file in your downloaded archive. While the installation is in process,
change the sim card in your usb modem, remove the bundled Airtel 3G sim card and insert any
other network/carrier sim card you want to use in it.
Step 6 :
After you are done installing Huawei Mobile Partner and swapping the sim card in you USB Modem,
open the Huawei Mobile Partner Application and then insert the USB Modem with different network
sim card.
After the Mobile Partner is detects your USB Modem Device, it will pop up asking you for the
Unlock code saying the device is locked.
Step 7 :
In the pop up box of Huawei Mobile Partner asking you for the unlock code, insert the unlock code
you generated using Universal Master Code.
Hurray Finally Your Huawei E1731 USB Modem is unlocked. Now you can do your personal
settings in your mobile partner and connect to the internet and use services. To check if your
modem is successfully unlocked see if the mobile partner software is displaying your carrier name
and is showing available network.
Guys, if your modem unlocking procedure is unsuccessful or if you are unable to unlock your
modem due to some reasons, then just don’t worry, we are here to help you out..

Hi. I really like your instructions so far, but for whatever reason, when I try to open Huawei
Mobile Manager, it says ” ! Cannot execute
“C:\DOCUME~1\st\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EXa0.444\Setup.exe” from another source and

Does not work zubin. it shows the same update error. i have an IMEI number starting with
354************** . please help

if it shows update failure then try doing the complete procedure on a new system.. may
be on your friends computer.. it worked for me.. and if you have imei with 35** as starting
you need to use the old firmware..

I have e173Bu-1 airtel modem with imei starting 3543*****************.and firmware version:
11.129.26.00.284. I downloaded the file from the link given in the tutorial. But I suspect
that the file you mentioned in the step No. 4 i.e. ’ 2 – Huawei E1731 Firmware Download
(Downgrade) ’ does not have the same name which I downloaded. Instead it has the file
name: E1731FirmwareUpdate_11.126.15.00.00.B416.exe. Is it the right file with which I
am going to unlock my modem? Please guide. Thanks.

hi, mine is huawei e173Bu-1 its imei is 354369049067342… when i update with the
version 23 it didn’t asked any code.. after updation, tatadocomo sim is inserted and it
says proper sim is not inserted… i tried to write unlock code which is generated by
universal master code by huawei code writer .. but it didn’t accepted.. and showing error

getting the message ” Network Failed”
i Have already tried :
selecting network manually ie airtel, thre also i got ” network failed ”
Although the network is full…but couldnt connect to internet…..
ll be thankful if some one can advise on this…..:(

hello zubin, i recently bought a latest airtel 3G USB modem(upto 7.2 mbps) and i follow
all ur procedure by downloading the file u mention here but i havn’t got any success as
when i go to downgrade the firmware it failed everytime, i tried everything and download
