System description:

Aquapedia is a regionally coordinated database platform for researchers’ assessment.

Researchers are able to input information of new fish species once they found it in the ocean.
The database enables researchers to cover and store all types of fish in any area. Researchers
are able to modify and even delete the information of the fish if information is considered not
relevant or inserted wrongly. Currently, access to the database is by logging in.

Aquapedia includes all relevant information for each catalogued lot of specimens. The
database provides taxonomic information such as kingdom, class, phylum, genus, species,
family, and order. Additionally, it also provides the phenotypic information that includes
species name, geographical distribution and a brief description about the speciality of that fish.
To allow customer to have better understanding about that fish, the system also provides photo
the particular fish. The system also enables users to search and view the information and images
of interest using the search bar in the home page.

Aquapedia has been developed under HTML, JSP, Glassfish Server 4.1.1, and MySQL
under Windows 10 operating system. This system should run fine on any operating systems
newer than Windows XP with web browser excluding Internet Explorer.
