Week 1
1 Monday, January 14 From the text, read and be prepared to discuss in detail, pages 3-25. (Stop at
White v. Benkowski).
2 Wednesday, January 16 From the text, read and be prepared to discuss pages 25-34. Brief White v.
Benkowski, using the format in Question 1 on page 28-29.On your own, read pages 35-38. There will
be no class discussion of this material. For further class discussion, read and be prepared to discuss,
beginning with Section Three, pages 38-62. (Stop at Maughs v. Porter).
3 Thursday, January 17 We will complete previously assigned materials, if necessary. In addition, from
the text, read and be prepared to discuss pages 62-80. (Stop at De Los Santos).
Week 2
4 Wednesday, January 23 We will complete the previously assigned materials, beginning with the
question I posited to the class regarding the Baehr v. Penno-O-Tex case and going up to page 80.
Next, from the text, read and be prepared to discuss pages 80-95. (Stop at Kirksey)
5 Thursday, January 24 From the text, beginning with Kirksey, read and be prepared to discuss pages
95-120. (Stop at Local 1330).
Week 3
6 Monday, January 28 We will complete the previously assigned material, beginning with a wrap-up of
the Hoffman case. Next, from the text beginning with Local 1330, read and be prepared to discuss
pages 120-141 (Stop at Kearns and omit this case). Also, beginning with Posner, pages 145-147 (Stop
at Kelly).
7 Wednesday, January 30 From the text beginning with Kelly, read and be prepared to discuss pages
147-172.
8 Thursday, January 31 From the text, read and be prepared to discuss pages 173-178 (Stop at Section
Six); and pages 199-223 (Stop at Sterling).
Week 4

9 Monday, February 4 We will complete our discussion of the Howard Schoor case and thereafter
discuss the Note on page 223. Next, from the text, beginning with Note, read and be prepared to
discuss pages 233-246. (Do Problem 2-11 on your own--no class discussion). Be prepared to
discuss in class your answer to the attached Problem. Do not send me your answer
electronically, however, I want you to give me a hard copy of your answer when you come to
class Monday.
Also, from the text, read and be prepared to discuss pages 247-269 (Stop at Radford).
10 Wednesday, February 6 From the text, pages 269-284 (Stop at Problem 3-2). Be prepared to
discuss in class your answer to Problem 3-1 on page 270. You do not have to hand in your
answer or send it electronically.
Week 5
11 Monday, February 11 We will complete the previous assignment, beginning with the Lukaszewski
case. The new assignment is, beginning with Problem 3-2, pages 284-305. Be prepared to discuss in
class your answers to Problems 3-2, 3-3, 3-4 and 3-6. You do not have to submit your answers to
me. (Omit Problems 3-5 and 3-7).
12 Wednesday, February 13 From the text, pages 306-326 (Stop at Evergreen). Do Problem 3-8 on page
307 and submit your answer to this Problem to my assistant, Lorraine McDonald, no later than 4:00 PM
Tuesday, February 12. (lorraine.mcdonald@brooklaw.edu). Please use the subject line: Prof. Taylor -
spring 2019 Contracts Assignment Problem 3-8. No answers will be accepted after the
deadline. Also, I will ask several students to put their answers on the board.
13 Thursday, February 14 From the text, beginning with Evergreen, pages 326-328 (Stop at Lakota Girl);
beginning with Note, pages 340-351 (Stop at Merry Gentleman); beginning with Coppola, pages 356-
359 (Stop at Autotrol); and pages 364-373.
Week 6
14 Tuesday, February 19We will complete the previous assignment. Also, from the text pages 374-398
(Stop at "B").
15 Wednesday, February 20 From the text, beginning with Section B, pages 398-402 (Stop at "C"). Do
Problem 3-15 on page 402 and hand in your answer when you enter the classroom on
Wednesday. Show every step in your mathematical calculations. I will ask several students to put their
answers on the board. I will not accept any late answsers

Vaskie) and pages 529-554.
20 Thursday, February 28 From the text, beginning with "Note," read and be prepared to discuss pages
556-589 (Stop at Section Eleven).
Week 8
21 Monday, March 11 We will begin with some concluding comments and discussion regarding the last
assignment, paying particular attention to pages 585-589. Next, from the text, beginning with Section
Eleven, read and be prepared to discuss pages 589-597 (omit Paul Gottlieb) and pages 603-
609. During our class discussion, I will ask for your responses to the Note on page 592.
22 Wednesday, March 13 From the text, read and be prepared to discuss pages 611-625 (Stop at
Gibb). Also, we will discuss your answers to the attached "Nicole" hypo. Finally, beginning with
Holcomb, from the text, pages 623-645 (Stop at Hillman and O'Rourke). (not the 11th the 13th)
23 Thursday, March 1 From the text, read and be prepared to discuss pages 646-668 (Stop at Section
Five) and beginning with Jackson v. Seymour, pages 673-678 (Stop at Section Six).
Week 9
24 Monday, March 18 We will complete the previous assignment, beginning with the Weintraub case.
Next, from the text, pages 646-668 (Stop at Section Five) and beginning with Jackson v. Seymour,
pages 673-678 (Stop at Section Six). Finally, read and be prepared to discuss Williams v. Walker
Thomas, which can be found at 121 U.S. App. D.C. 315 and 350 F.2d 445.
25 Wednesday, March 2 Beginning with Section Six, from the text, pages 678-687 and pages 697-704
(Stop at Note). Also, beginning with Section Seven, pages 706-725 (Stop at Caspi).
26 Thursday, March 3 From the text, pages 725-745 (Stop at Schwartzreich); and beginning with UCC 2-
209, pages 749-764 (Stop at UCC 3-311).
Week 10
27 Monday, March 25 We will complete our discussion of the Con Ed case. Next, from the text, read and
be prepared to discuss pages 769-807 (stop at Eskimo Pie).
28 Wednesday, March 27 From the text, pages 807-813 (Stop at Riverisland). Next, beginning with Note,
pages 825-830 (Omit Problem 6-4) and 839-847. Finally, beginning with Section Four, pages 863-
880.
29 Thursday, March 28 From the text, pages 880-924 (Stop at Section Three). Also, read this case that is
not in the text: Monge v. Beebe Rubber Company, 316 A.2d 549.
