Custom Incentives: Tank Insulation Calculator

Welcome. This document has been prepared by CLEAResult.

The purpose of this spreadsheet is to determine the savings from insulating an existing, uninsulated tank that i
heated via natural gas fired equipment. The following steps outline the proper use of this form. Please note the
use of the word estimate as true savings will be evaluated after post installation M&V.

1. Enter all initial parameters on the "Tank Insulation Calculator" tab. The necessary items are highlighted in Bl
2. All required fields must be filled in for savings to be properly displayed.
3. The calculator uses meteorological data from the Chicago O'Hare weather station. If weather in your
location greatly differs from this location, contact technical support.
4. While there are drop down options for tank material, insulation material, and jacket material, any of these inp
more accurate.
5. If the efficiency of the equipment that heats the material in the tank is unknown, use a value of 80%
6. Ensure that upon completion of the calculation, no warnings appear on the screen.
