ESSAY REFLECTION

My greatest challenge in completing this assignment was to be as realistic as possible with equality

because this is one of the most serious issues that is still talked about today. Not many people are aware of how

we got to where we are today so it’s important to make that known. I struggled with bringing the different

aspects of the three persuasive appeals like pathos and logs, choice of words, and tones to corporate in my

essay. I overcame this challenge by using and completing graphic organizers that Mr. Massie and Mr. Kelly

provided for us throughout the unit. I also struggled to find the evidence that expressed how Eleanor Roosevelt,

Malala Yousafzai, and Martin Luther King Jr. fought for our rights using their choice of words, tones, pathos,

etc. To overcome this struggle, I made sure to highlight the reading passages and take notes whether it portrays

pathos, logos, word choice, etc so when I had to go back to find my evidence, it was much easier and simple. I

also used real-world examples that reflect on the concepts that were required for the essay. Thus, I did have

some struggles in completing this essay but I tried my best to overcome them.

If I was able to redo this assignment then I would improve on my introduction. Personally, an

introduction is one of the most important aspects in an essay since it’s our way to get the reader's attention and

make sure they aren’t oblivious to the topic. In this case, it was my job to make sure they are aware of some of

the individuals that fought for the rights that we have today. I wouldn’t really change the process of how I

completed this essay because I did it with time and worked well to construct this assignment. Another thing I

could’ve improved was my use of vocabulary, well grammar in general. To make this change, I will thoroughly

re-read my essay and probably even have someone else read it and give me some feedback. I could’ve also

added more real-world examples so that people can understand the importance of equal rights. Overall, I don’t

think this was a bad essay because it had to do with influential individuals who fought for our rights.
