Kindness

Kids A rhyming
social story
about kindness
#kindnessnation

©Cindy Deane 2017

Every day
we make
important
choices.

Will we choose
to be kind
with our actions
and our voices?
©Cindy Deane 2017
Or will we choose to be selfish instead,
and pass others by as we try to get ahead?

©Cindy Deane 2017

No matter
how you
have acted
in the past,
today you can
choose to make
a difference
that will last.

©Cindy Deane 2017

You can start
by looking
at the people
around you.

Then think of
some nice things
you can say
and do.
©Cindy Deane 2017
You can
start with
“Hello, it's good
to see you today.”

Then at recess you can ask,

“Would you like to play?”
©Cindy Deane 2017
If someone
looks sad,
you can ask
if they’re okay.

With teachers and parents

you can obey right away.
©Cindy Deane 2017
“Great job!” is
a kind word
you can share
to encourage
others and
show you care.

©Cindy Deane 2017

You can
take the time to
compliment
someone's’ hair
or shoes.

Or you can celebrate with a friend

when they get good news.
©Cindy Deane 2017
If someone
is sad,
a hug can help
a heart to mend.

If someone
is gossiping,
a reputation
you can defend.

©Cindy Deane 2017

Being kind
means that
you choose to
be a friend.
If someone
needs help,
a hand
you can extend.

©Cindy Deane 2017

These choices
are important
as we travel
through this life.

Sharing kindness
is the key
to making peace
instead of strife.
©Cindy Deane 2017
So no matter what you do today,
remember kindness along the way,

And with coast to coast participation,

we can become a #kindness nation.
©Cindy Deane 2017
The
End
Everyone faces trials each day
from the beginning to the end.
It’s easier to face our struggles
with the kindness of our friends.
