Identifying functions. When we say something we DO something. Indicate the functions in the
dialogue and copy the sentence.

The first is done for you.Write your answers on the clipboard.

1. Greet somebody: Good Morning. Nice to meet you.

2. Respond to the greeting:Hi, nice to meet you too

3. Offer someone a seat:Would you like to sit?

4. Ask someone about previous experience: Can you tell me about your previuos jobs?

5. Enquire about someone�s health:What about your health? are you a fit person?

6. Ask for free time from a job: Is there any free time at weeks?

7. Give permission for this:it's possible to get some time off if you complete your tasks

8. Ask about more questions:can you tell me something else about yourself?

9. Respond negatively: that is everything I have to say

10. Thank a person for visiting you: thank you for your visit, it was nice to talk yto you.

Imagine you�re at a job interview. Change the following functions using the language you�ve
learned this week. Write this dialogue on the clipboard and save it on a text document. Record it
and sent it to your instructor by mail. Be prepared to practice similar dialogues in class or over the
phone.
