Who we are

Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases remain huge global health problems especially
in Southeast Asia. Moreover, globalization, climate, environmental and social changes pose The Second International Conference on Tropical and

prevention methods from multidiscipline areas are essential requirements to control the INFECTIOUS DISEASES WORKSHOP AGENDA
infection, especially to population living in or travelling to tropical regions. Furthermore,
application of evidence based medicine and management of the infections is another
important aspect to improve population and individual health status.

This year, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara is delighted to invite you to
participate in the 2nd International Conference on Tropical Medicine and Infectious
Diseases (ICTROMI). The conference will encompass inter-multi-transdisciplinary forum
in the field of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases with special attention “From
Community to Healthcare Environments: Infectious Disease Control and Management in
Sustainable Development Goals Era”.

This conference will unite 500 participants of tropical specialists, researchers,


academicians, clinicians, healthcare professionals, policymakers, students and others from
around the world. The participants will present state-of-the-art scientific
presentations; discuss and exchange the latest research, new emerging knowledge,
advanced approaches in infectious disease control and management; and encounter
challenges related to common efforts towards tropical medicine and infectious diseases in
SDGs era.

The conference will include plenary lectures, symposia, and workshops delivered by
invited international and national speakers to share experiences and best practices. It will
bring opportunity to researchers, students, and academicians to publish their study in oral
or poster sessions covering a range topics and important issues related to the theme. The
forum will gather, develop, and provide links in the field of tropical medicine, infectious
diseases, environmental health, occupational health, public health, and family medicine
