Aim/Objective of the Project
• The main objective of this project is to design a smart automated intruder identification
system using Raspeberry pi
• To design system which also notifies the user with alert voice message & notifies the
neighbours with an alram system.
• This security automation is not only limited to theft or burglar alarms; it also ponders
upon the areas such as Fire and Fume detection alert.

LITERATURE SURVEY
Android based Home Security Systems using Internet of
Things(IoT) and Firebase [1]
• In this , the concept of home automation and security using the Internet of Things
is realized using low- cost microcontroller-based Node Mcu (Esp8266), an
Android device and Firebase services.
• Node Mcu (Esp8266) has an inbuilt Wi-Fi module thus it enables us to connect to
the online database, Firebase .
• Node Mcu device can be used to gather vital data from the sensors and these data
can be recorded in the database.

Automatic Service Request System for Security in Smart Home
Using IoT [2]
• It is associated with web server or cloud via Internet using the wireless network.
• This system was used for monitoring the status of home by using different sensors
such as Vibration sensor, smoke sensor, pir sensor.
• The sensor data is processed by raspberry pi and if any abnormality found then it
will automatically send service request to the concerned person regarding the
abnormality.

Design and Implementation of Pyroelectric Infrared Sensor Based Security
System Using Microcontroller [3]
• This evaluates the development of a Low-cost security system using small PIR (Pyro
electric Infrared) sensor built around a microcontroller.
• The low-power PIR detectors take advantage of pyro electricity to detect a human body
that is a constant source of Passive Infrared.
• Detecting the presence of any unauthorized person in any specific time interval, it triggers
an alarm & sets up a call to a predefined number through a GSM modem.

Proposal for a New Home Security System in terms of User-friendliness and
Prompt Intrusion Notification [4]
• This proposed a system to solve the problems of change the alarm mode of the
terminal from disarmed to armed.
• This system is capable of recognizing the principal user through the use of an
RFID tag, the terminal can appropriately change the alarm modes and quickly
provide notification of an intruder.
slide7
Integration of Intrusion Detection and Web Service Alarm For Home
Automation System Using ‘Arm’ Microprocessor [5]
• This web service will retrieve the image from ARM microprocessor if any
detection of intruder and trigger an SMTP email service call.
slide8
Home Security Monitoring Based Stepped-FM UWB [6]
• It presents the effectiveness of stepped FM UWB home security sensor.
• When a human body enters the detection range, therefore, the amount of infrared
rays impinging on the sensor device would change in line with the difference in

IOT based Smat Home Security System with Alert and Door Access Control
using Smart Phone [8]
• In this, the alerts and the status sent by the Wi-Fi connected microcontroller
managed system can be received by the user on his phone.
• The microcontroller used in the current prototype is the TI-CC3200 Launch pad
board which comes with an embedded micro-controller and an onboard Wi-Fi
shield.
slide11
PROBLEM FORMATION
• Previously, a PIR sensor has been used for detecting motion and a GSM module to send
message alerts to the user. However there is no information about the intruder and fails to
collect evidence. The sensitivity range for detecting motion of the system is about 3 to 4
feet only and it doesn’t recognise the detected motion data clearly and cost & power usage
of proposed systems is higher.
• In our project, we are extending to provide detailed view of an intruder and also extending
the range of detection upto 8 meters and sending the images of an intruder if still
identified there by providing an additional and reliable data.

MECHANISM AND EXPECTED REULTS
• The system is stand-alone and wirelessly connected, is modelled for intrusion and
also fire detection.
• It uses mobile phones as a mode of interface to view the alerts, since they have
become a predominant part of our lives and are carried by users all the time.
• The system is equipped with a Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) which detects
motion by measuring changes in infrared levels emanated by the surrounding
objects.
slide15
• The break-in is first intimated to the user and his neighbours through a text
message. Then an E-mail is sent to the user with the images attached using the
standard SMTP over TCP/IP protocol.
• In case of fire, an alarm is raised to alert the neighbours in addition to the text
message. On the whole, the system is compact, low power, economical and
intelligent as it is fullyautomated.
