Gorumara Jungle Safari|Gorumara Jeep Safari|Gorumara Elephant safari|Gorumara Forest

Gorumara National Park, the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary, the Jaldapara Wildlife
Sanctuary as well as the Buxa Tiger Reserve remains closed from 15th June till the 15th
September every year.
Also entry to the Forest remains closed on THURSDAY throughout the year.

Gorumara Elephant Safari can be availed ONLY by those staying inside the Forest Department's accommodation at Gorumara
Eco Village Kalipur, Gorumara Elephant Camp Dhupjhora and Gorumara Rhino Camp Ramsai.

Tickets for the Elephant Safari ARE NOT ISSUED FROM THE TICKET COUNTERS. Only Jeep Safari Tickets are issued from the
Ticket Counter.

One can visit:

A number of Watch Towers inside the Gorumara National park or the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary,

or Avail the GORUMARA JUNGLE SAFARI, commonly called the GORUMARA JEEP SAFARI.

Visit to the various Watch Towers as well as the Jungle Safari of the Gorumara Wildlife Sanctuary are regulated by the Forest
Department. They are conducted twice during the day in two Shifts each, the timings of which are tabled below.

As is the directive of the Forest department, the visitors have to PERSONALLY STAND IN THE QUEUE (CARRYING SELF
ATTESTED GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO IDENTITY CARD) for obtaining the tickets of the various Watch Towers.

Important Tip:

Please have photocopies done beforehand as you may not find Photo Copying Establishments/Shops open so early
in the morning and you will not be allowed to take the tickets without the photocopy of Identity card.

The "Forest Charges" are a composite of the Following :

Gypsy Charges (A maximum of 06 persons can be accommodated in a Gypsy). One can either book the entire Gypsy by
paying the cost of 06 persons or can share it with others.

The Gorumara Forest Entry Fees as well as the Various Charges are tabled below for Ready reference. Please note the rates may
be changed/altered by the Forest Department without notice and every effort is made to upload the updated rates. The rates on
this website are the updated prevalent rates as on 31.05.2014.

GUIDE CHARGES PER GYPSY: Rs.150 per Gypsy

GYPSY ENTRY FEES: Rs.100 per Gypsy

VIDEO CAMERA CHARGES: Rs.200 per camera

Tickets for the Medhla Watch Tower are issued from the Ramshai Ticket Counters all throughout the year.

However, the tickets for the Gorumara Jeep Safari and the Chapramari Forest are issued from the Nature
Interpretation Center Ticket Counter at Lataguri (Except for the period when the Forest remains closed).

Limited Entry tickets are issued in two periods. The timings for the issue of tickets and the Gorumara Safari
Timings are mentioned herewith:
