FEAPS 5D – Critical Task

Collaborating with Home

Pictured above are 2 examples of interactive newsletters that were sent home
to my student’s families. These letters required the students to write “What Ms.
Bishop does in their classroom”. This prompt ensures that the students are included
within the communication between myself and their guardians. This is important
because the students feel included, and their guardians get to read their opinion
about having an intern in their class. This artifact shows proficiency of FEAPS 5D
because I am collaborating with the home, and requiring a guardian’s signature to
ensure they saw the newsletter. This newsletter was very important because
moving forward in the semester, if I wrote in a student’s planner or they spoke
about Ms. Bishop, their guardians knew who it was coming from or who they were
talking about. I continued the newsletters throughout the semester as a way to keep
the parents and guardians included into what was going on within our classroom.
Collaborating with School

Pictured above is a patriotic chain being hung throughout our main office at
our school. This chain represents collaboration within the school because we
ensured that everyone (teachers, staff, faculty, and students) were able to be
included in their project. This project was to represent the community we have at
our school and how we stick together even when times are tough. This chain was
hung up on 9/11 as a special way to show how strong we are as a school. This
artifact collaborated with our entire school because we cut red, white, and blue
strips of paper and counted out enough for every single person at our school. We
distributed the strips of paper and asked everyone to please write their name on the
paper and return it to us. We then linked all the strips of paper into a large chain
symbolizing how we stick together even when times are tough. We then hung this
chain in our main office for everyone to view, and it is still hanging in the office 2
months later. This artifact shows proficiency on FEAPS 5D because it is including
everyone in school in a visual representation of collaboration.
