Occupational Therapy Reflection

For my third career exploration, I had observed an Occupational Therapist. This had been

someone who I had completed my hours of observation for graduate school with. She was very

welcoming with me coming back to receive credit for my hours with her. During our time

together over winter 2018 and summer 2019, I learned a lot more about the career than I had

known before starting. My interest in the career has gone up tremendously from my

observations, and I am glad that I had waited until our Senior Synthesis class to observe an OT.

Rebecca had explained the career outlook to me in an understanding way and was able to help

me with any graduate school information that I would need as well. She works with the geriatric

population, which is something that I did not think I would have an interest in. After observing

her for so long, I learned to love the geriatric population for occupational therapy and am now

very interested in continuing to a career with this population.
