Keyboard

A keyboard is used for typing text. It has five basic kinds of keys, they are :

1. Numeric keys.

2. Cursor keys.

3. Function keys.

4. Alphanumeric keys.

5. Special keys.

Introduction  Recap the previous lesson regarding the mouse by asking the pupils randomly. Questions to be
(5 min) asked:

1. What topic we had learned last week?


2. Could you show us which one is the mouse?
3. What is the main function of the mouse?
4. What are the parts of the mosue?

 Teacher tells the pupils the topic for the day and asks the pupils randomly. Questions to be asked:

1. Which one is keyboard?

2. What is the main function?

3. How many parts of the keyboard?

Lesson Development Step 1:


(10 min)
Teacher gives out the textbook to pupils and open page 18.

Step 2:

Teacher explains the main functions of the keyboard and its part.

Step 3:

Teacher spells the ‘keyboard’ and the pupils follow the teacher.

Step 4:

Teacher shows the keyboard through the CD-ROM.

Pupil’s Activity (6 Teacher gives out the classwork sheet and explains to the pupils on how to do it.

2. Color the selected key.

a) Shift key – blue

Conclusion  Teacher recaps the whole lesson by asking the pupils randomly. Questions to be asked:
