1. Why did Dr. Jose Rizal rose on top among filipino heroes and acclaimed as the greatest
national hero?
Dr. Jose Rizal became the National hero because of he fought for the freedom of the
Filipino in a silent way but effective one. He expressed his love for the Philippines
through his novels, essay, articles and poems rather than a force of aggression. He was a
very responsible person at his time. He was also humble, fighting for reforms through his
writings instead of through a revolution. Also, He rose on the top among Filipino heroes
because he used his intelligence, talents and skills in a for more peaceful way. Rizal was
quickly acclaimed as a national hero because of his life and work have been
commemorated with countless memorials worldwide.
2. Who made Dr. Jose Rizal the foremost hero in the country?
Dr. Jose Rizal (1861-1896), is unquestionably the greatest hero and martyr of our nation.
The day of his birth and the day of his execution are fittingly commemorated by all
classes of our people throughout the length and breadth of this country and even by
Filipinos and their friends abroad. His name is a byword in every Filipino home while his
picture adorns the postage stamp and paper money of widest circulation. In my opinion, It
is Jose Rizal who made himself a foremost hero because of what he was done for the
Filipinos freedom.

Republic Act No. 1425, known as the Rizal Law, mandates all educational institutions in
the Philippines to offer courses about José Rizal. The full name of the law is An Act to
Include in the Curricula of All Public and Private Schools, Colleges and Universities
Courses On the Life, Works and Writings of Jose Rizal, Particularly His Novels Noli Me
Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Authorizing the Printing and Distribution Thereof, and for
Other Purposes. The measure was strongly opposed by the Roman Catholic Church in the
Philippines due to the anti-clerical themes in Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo.
Section 2 mandated that the students were to read the novels as they were written in
Spanish, although a provision ordered that the Board of National Education create rules
on how these should be applied. The last two sections were focused on making Rizal's
works accessible to the general public: the second section mandated the schools to have
"an adequate number" of copies in their libraries, while the third ordered the board to
publish the works in major Philippine languages. After the bill was enacted into law,
there were no recorded instances of students applying for exemption from reading the
novels, and there is no known procedure for such exemptions. In 1994, President Fidel V.
Ramos ordered the Department of Education, Culture and Sports to fully implement the
law as there had been reports that it has still not been fully implemented.
2. Explain the patriotic goals and policy statement of Republic Act 1425.
It is important to study Rizal’s life and his writings including other heroes because the
contribution they give to the country is priceless. We the youth know only the little
background of their lives and works and we are already moved, what about if we dig
deeper into this? Ofcourse we will learn many lessons and inspirations with their works.
!he love they give for the country. "specially Dr. Rizal, who is the mightiest. !he principle
of pen is mightier than the sword.
