Find effective rate of interest when ₹5000 is lent at 10% rate of interest, interest payable half yearly.
22. Calculate future value of an annuity of ₹ 20000 for 5 years at the rate of interest 9% per annum if
that annuity is paid at the end of each year and at the beginning of each year. Which gives more
return?
23. Find the present value of annuity Rs.5000 for 2 years at 12% p.a
26. In a city there are 15 colleges and 25 schools. Each school has 4 peons, 3
clerks and 2 head clerk, whereas college has 6 peons, 5 clerks and 2 head
clerk. The monthly salary of each of them: Peon – ₹ 9000/-, Clerk – ₹ 13000/-,
head clerk - ₹15000/-. Using matrix method find the total salary bill of school and
college.
27. Solve the following LPP graphically.
Maximize z = 3x + 2y
Subject to constraints
2x+ y ≤ 100
x + y ≤ 50
x ≤ 40
x ≥ 0, y ≥ 0.
28. Maximize z = 5x + 3y
Subject to the constraints 2x + 5y ≤ 10; 5x + 2y ≤ 10; x ≥ 0; y ≥ 0
29. (a) A bank offers 10 % per annum interest on 12-month R.D. account. If you deposit ₹ 5000
per month for 12 months how, much will you get at the 12 months, assuming that each
deposit is to be made at the beginning of the month?
(b)A person deposits ₹ 60000 in a bank account. For long term deposits, the bank offers
compound interest at the rate of 8 % per annum for first 5 years, at the 10% for the next 3
years and from the 8th year onwards, at the rate of 12% per annum. If the person makes a
11-year deposit, how much will he receive at the end of the 11th year?
