Releasing the Brake Pedal - Release the brake pedal in order to allow the machine to move.

Decelerator (6)
Decelerator Pedal - Use the decelerator pedal in order to adjust the desired engine speed. Push down
on the pedal in order to reduce the engine speed. Release the pedal in order to increase engine speed.
Use the pedal in order to reduce the engine speed when you make a directional shift. Use the pedal in
order to maneuver in tight locations. The engine speed obtained when the decel pedal is fully
depressed is set to 1000 rpm. While in an EAS Auto mode, the pedal may need depressed further in
order to change engine speed.

Operator Not Present Sensor (7)

The operator not present sensor is contained within the bottom cushion of the operator seat and
detects when no operator is present in the seat. The operation of the parking brake, transmission, and
implement controls are controlled by this sensor in certain conditions.

Operator Not Present

The effects on machine control function when the operator is detected as not present are described for
the following conditions.

Transmission in neutral, parking brake engaged - The transmission and implement controls are
immediately made inactive.

Transmission in neutral, parking brake not engaged - The service brake is applied with increasing
force, then the parking brake is activated. Once the parking brake is activated, the transmission and
implement controls are also made inactive.

Transmission in gear - There is no effect on the action of the parking brake, transmission controls,
or implement controls.

Operator Not Present Sensor Override

Limp Home Mode - In the event of a malfunction of the operator not present sensor, the feature can
be temporarily overridden by lightly depressing the service brake pedal. The override feature is
intended to allow for the movement of the machine to a safe location. While the service brake pedal
is depressed, the transmission can be shifted into gear. The service brake can then be released, and the
tractor will remain in gear. The implement controls are also fully functional while the transmission is
in gear and the feature is being overridden.

Engine Start Switch (8)

STOP - Turn the engine start switch

key to the STOP position in order to
override delayed engine shutdown (if
enabled), and stop the engine.

Illustration 10 g02120441

The Advisor monitor display is located at the front of the right side operator console. The Advisor
communicates with the machine electronic control modules, and the instrument module. Advisor
provides information to the operator. The Advisor allows the operator to have control of the machine
system.

Some functions of the Advisor monitor display are password protected. Refer to Operation and
Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System" for additional information on the Advisor monitor
display.

Enhanced Auto Shift (EAS)

EAS is meant to be a fuel savings and convenience feature. This feature will act like an automatic
transmission. The operator can set a desired track speed, and the machine will automatically adjust
the gear and engine speed to get to the desired speed in the most efficient way. The machine will
adjust to changing machine load, caused by machine angle, blade load, or ripper drag, and always
seek to keep the same track speed.

EAS is independent in the FORWARD and REVERSE directions. EAS has two modes, "automatic"
and "manual". When in "manual" mode, the operator directly controls the gear selection and engine
speed. When in "automatic" mode, the operator will adjust the desired track speed by using the
upshift/downshift controls.

https://127.0.0.1/sisweb/sisweb/techdoc/techdoc_print_page.jsp?returnurl=/sisweb/sis... 28/05/2019

Illustration 11 g02287896

On the top of Advisor, called the "banner", the information that has a line on top and bottom will
indicate what gear and direction of the machine have been selected. Neutral will have no line on top
or bottom shown. The figure above shows the machine in the FORWARD direction and in second
gear. The machine gears are displayed immediately next to the "F" and "R". When the machine is in
"automatic" mode, a track speed will appear next to the gear. The number is the desired track speed
of the machine in that direction. If no number is present, the machine is in a "manual" mode in that
direction. The figure above shows that the machine is in "2F"and will shift into "2R" when the "FNR"
is placed into REVERSE, the FORWARD mode in "manual", and REVERSE in "automactic" with a
speed selected of 5.0 km/h (3.1 mph).

Both decelerator and brake pedals will continue to function, however both pedals affect operation
while in the "automactic" mode in the current direction. While pressing the brake or decel pedal, the
"automatic" mode will temporarily "suspend" and will return to the normal mode after releasing the
pedals. Pressing the brake pedal will also ramp down engine speed in order to avoid driving through
the brakes.

While in an "automatic" mode in the forward direction, a press and hold of the track speed set/resume
button for 3 seconds will store the current speed into memory. The operator can tell when the speed
was stored because the line on top and bottom of the Advisor banner will blink. A quick press of the
track speed set/resume button at a later time will then recall that speed.

Setup

Both the owner and operator will be able to set a maximum track speed. The operator maximum track
speeds can be found by navigating to the following menu in Advisor:

1. Select the "HOME" option.

2. Then select the "SETTINGS" option.

3. Then select the "POWERTRAIN" option.

The owner maximum track speed lockout can be found by entering the Advisor service password
then navigating to the following menu:

"Auto" indicates that the machine will be in an "automatic" shifting mode in that direction. That
means 1F-Auto will put the machine in "manual" mode in the FORWARD and an "automatic" mode
in REVERSE. Auto-Auto will put the machine in "automactic" mode in the FORWARD and
REVERSE.

The operator-selected bi-directional values will not be stored when the engine start switch key is
turned to the OFF position. In order to save settings for future use, an operator profile may be used.

Reference: See the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System" section "Operator
Menu" for more details on creating or editing the Operator Profiles.

Note: The set maximum track speeds will not protect against engine overspeed. Engine overspeed
must still be managed through traditional methods. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual,

is ON and hold for 3 seconds. The fan
will remain in a continuous purge cycle
until the switch is pressed again or the
parking brake is released.

The setting range for the duration of the fan purge is 5 - 60 seconds. The setting range for fan purge
interval is 5 - 120 minutes.

If the purge interval expires, a purge cycle will begin when the track-type tractor is in a REVERSE
gear or in NEUTRAL and the parking brake is released. If the purge interval expires and the track-
type tractor is in a FORWARD gear, starting a purge cycle is prevented. If the purge interval expires
and the track-type tractor is in NEUTRAL with the parking brake engaged, starting a purge cycle is
prevented. A purge cycle is prohibited until there is a shift into REVERSE gear or the parking brake
is released in NEUTRAL.

If the purge button is manually depressed, a purge cycle will begin when the track-type tractor is in a
REVERSE gear or in NEUTRAL and the parking brake is released. If the purge button is manually
depressed, the request for a purge cycle will be ignored when the track-type tractor is in a
FORWARD gear or in NEUTRAL and the parking brake is engaged.

When a purge cycle is in progress and the cancellation of the Purge Cycle is set to OFF, the top
banner in the Advisor monitor display displays “Active”. See illustration 14.

When a purge cycle begins, the total purge cycle will pause while machine is in FORWARD, and
will continue to count down the purge cycle until the next time machine is in NEUTRAL or
REVERSE. When a purge cycle begins, and the cancellation of the Purge Cycle is set to ON, the
purge cycle will stop automatically once the machine is put into FORWARD gear. If the Purge Cycle
(Cancellation) occurs after 15 seconds of purge time, the purge interval timer is kept at zero. Then,
the system is able to purge the cooling system and the purge cycle starts automatically at the next
time. After three successive attempts fail to complete more than 15 seconds of purge time, the purge
interval timer is reset to the purge interval.

The purge interval timer is reset upon full completion of every purge cycle regardless of an automatic
start or manual start. The reverse fan function is disabled when the hydraulic oil temperature is below
30° C (86° F). Auto purge will not be allowed with a coolant temperature of greater than 109° C
(228° F). Manual purge will not be allowed with a coolant temperature of greater than 145° C
(293° F).

The engine speed can be manually set at any intermediate level between low idle and high idle. There
are two procedures that can be used to set an intermediate engine speed. One method requires using
only the engine throttle switch. The other method requires the use of the decelerator pedal along with
the engine throttle switch.

Throttle Switch Only Method

In order to increase engine speed from any level except high idle, press and hold the top of the engine
speed switch. After a brief delay, the RPM will increase slowly. Release the switch when the desired
RPM is reached. When the switch is released, the engine will stay at that speed until the next time the
switch is depressed or the key is cycled.

In order to decrease engine speed from any level except low idle, press and hold the bottom of the
engine speed switch. After a brief delay, the RPM will decrease slowly. Release the switch when the
desired RPM is reached. When the switch is released, the engine will stay at that speed until the next
time the switch is depressed or the key is cycled.

Decelerator Pedal Method

Set the engine throttle to high idle. Push the decelerator pedal until the desired engine speed is
reached. When the desired speed is reached, press the high idle side of the throttle switch and hold the
switch for 3 seconds. This action will electronically lock in the engine speed.

In order to return to low idle or high idle, press and release the appropriate side of the throttle switch
as described above.

Auto Downshift (19)

Automatic Downshift - The electronic

transmission system is equipped with a
mode for the automatic downshift. If a
significant decrease in machine speed is
detected, this function automatically
downshifts the transmission. This
function works in forward and reverse
gears. The default setting for this
machine is OFF. When the automatic
downshift is activated, the default
setting is medium.

Automatic downshift switch (19) is located on the right console of the cab. The current mode of
operation is shown by the indicator for the automatic downshift. When the machine is started, the
transmission will be in the mode of automatic downshift that was selected prior to shutting down the
machine. When the machine is started and the automatic downshift is not active, push switch (19) and
release the switch. If the mode for the automatic downshift is active, the indicator for the automatic
downshift will illuminate and the display monitor will display "LO or HI". Select the mode for the
automatic downshift with the transmission in NEUTRAL. If the operation for the automatic
downshift is not desired, the machine can be operated in the manual mode. Changes in performance
for the automatic downshift can be made in Advisor.

The operation for the automatic downshift can be used in the following modes.

Manual Shift in Automatic Downshift - The automatic downshift allows the transmission to
downshift automatically. After a manual upshift, the auto kickdown is prevented for 2 seconds. The
operator can make manual shifts at any time.

Automatic Downshift (OFF) - Push switch (19) and release the switch in order to turn off the
automatic downshift. The indicator on the front instrument panel will no longer be illuminated. The
manual shift mode is then active if no autoshift indicators are on.

Automatic Downshift (LOW) - Push switch (19) and release the switch until the indicator for the
automatic downshift is ON. This setting allows the highest engine lug setpoint and the most reduction
in travel speed before an automatic downshift occurs. The selection can be Changed in Advisor.

Automatic Downshift (MEDIUM) - Push switch (19) and release the switch again until the
indicator for the automatic downshift is ON. This setting allows the middle engine lug setpoint and
the medium range of reduction in travel speed before an automatic downshift occurs. The selection
can be changed in the Advisor menu.

Automatic Downshift (HIGH) - Push switch (19) and release the switch again until the indicator for
the automatic downshift is ON. This setting allows the lowest engine lug setpoint and the least
reduction in travel speed before an automatic downshift occurs. The selection can be changed in the
Advisor menu.

When the machine is powered down, the active mode for the automatic downshift is kept in ECM
memory. When the machine is powered up, the automatic downshift is activated in the same mode.

Note: When in an Automatic EAS mode in the current direction, automatic downshift is integrated
into the feature so the indicator will be off and the switch will not be functional in that direction. The
feature will always start in the OFF position when the keyswitch is in the ON position. The
low/med/high setting will be remembered and that is the setting the switch will return to when
pressed.

louver assembly. This action regulates the amount of louver opening. The thumbwheel at the other
end rotates only the louver fins within the assembly. This action controls the direction of air flow.

Heating and Air Conditioning System Operation (Auto Mode)

Temperature control switch (34B) communicates the operator requested cab temperature to the ECM
when the A/C switch is in the AUTO position.

The automatic temperature control system maintains the operator requested cab temperature by
increasing the air temperature or decreasing the air temperature from the louvers. The adjustment of
the air temperature from the louvers is based on the existing air temperature of the cab.

Open all louvers. Direct all air flow away from the operator.

Place the A/C switch (34C) to the AUTO position.

Rotate temperature control to the middle position, that is approximately 21° C (70° F).

After the machine has been operating at the rated engine temperature and speed, slightly rotate
the temperature dial in order to change the temperature setpoint of the cab. Clockwise rotation
increases the temperature setpoint of the cab up to 32° C (90° F). Counterclockwise rotation
decreases the temperature setpoint of the cab to 10° C (50° F).

Adjust fan control (34A) to desired fan speed. When outside ambient temperatures
areextremely warm or cold, set fan speed to HIGH. When the outside ambient temperatures are
close to the operator requested temperature setpoint of the cab, set fan speed to LOW. If the
heating and air conditioning system is not controlling cab temperature effectively, increase fan
speed.

Note: After changing the position of the temperature dial, allow several minutes to pass in order for
the heating and air conditioning system to modify cab temperature.

Note: For maximum cab pressurization, maintain highest level of fan speed.

Heating and Air Conditioning System Operation (Manual Mode)

Note: The operator will set the fan speed to the maximum. This action allows the system to achieve
the desired environment in the cab in the shortest amount of time. After the cab reaches the desired
temperature, the operator can change the position of the fan speed. The temperature of the cab is
regulated with the fan control and the heater control.

Heating

Achieving the maximum heat

Winch Control (and associated film)

The electronic control provides variable speed control for the winch. Slight movement in the REEL
IN position or slight movement in the REEL OUT position results in a winch drum speed that is slow
and controlled. As the control is moved further from the center BRAKE ON (neutral) position, the
winch drum speed is increased proportionally. When the control is released from the REEL IN
position or from the REEL OUT position, the control will return to the BRAKE ON (neutral)
position.

HOLD (Neutral) (1) - The wire rope

should not move. Use this position
when you tow the machine. Use this
position when you are holding a load.

Note: The winch freespool function remains active when the control is released into the NEUTRAL
position from the FREESPOOL position until the winch freespool function is deactivated.

Freespool (2) - Move the

control towards the right-
hand side of the machine in
order to activate the
FREESPOOL function. A
light illuminates on the gauge
and instrument module to
show that the FREESPOOL
function is active. The winch
freespool function remains
active when the control is
released into the NEUTRAL
position. The wire rope will
unreel as the machine moves
away from the load. Move
the winch control to the
Engaged Winch Drum
position in order to cancel the
winch freespool function.

Do not use drum clutch release for controlled reelout of suspended

loads.

Sudden release of load may result in injury or death and property

damage.

Use only reelout to lower loads.

Engaged Winch Drum (3) - Move the

control towards the operator seat to
engage the clutch of the winch drum in
operational mode. Release the control.
The control will return to the
NEUTRAL position.

Reel-Out (4) - Move the control

towards the rear of the machine in order
to reel out the wire rope. The wire rope
will reel out under power. Reel-out
speed is controlled by how far the
control is moved towards the rear of the
machine. Release the control. The
control will return to the NEUTRAL
position.

Reel-In (5) - Move the control towards

the front of the machine in order to reel
in the wire rope. The wire rope will reel
in under power. Reel in speed is
controlled by how far the control is
moved towards the front of the
machine. Release the control. The
control will return to the NEUTRAL
position.

Slow Speed (6) - Press and release

button (6) in order to lock the winch in
low speed. The Winch Low Speed
status indicator will be illuminated on
the gauge and instrument module while
the winch is locked in low speed. Press
and release button (6) in order to
deactivate the winch operation in low
speed.

Note: The winch will operate in low speed automatically if the load applied to the winch is large
enough.

Bidirectional Shift (Includes EAS Modes)

Autoshift Mode - The bidirectional

shift function allows the operator to
preset the FORWARD and the
REVERSE gear for directional changes
and shifts out of NEUTRAL. The gear
the machine will go into when
changing direction or shifting out of
NEUTRAL can be seen in the Advisor
banner.

The selected mode is shown on the Advisor banner. The different modes can be selected by the
operator in Advisor.

Note: When the bidirectional shift mode is activated and the transmission direction selector is in the
NEUTRAL position, the digital display window shows N only.

Whenever a directional shift or shifting from neutral occurs, the transmission shifts to the selected
gear for that direction by the active mode. If the machine is operating in the third gear forward, with
the autoshift mode at 1F-2R and a directional shift is requested, the machine will shift directly from
third gear forward to second reverse gear. If another directional shift is requested, the machine will
shift from second reverse gear to first gear forward. When an "Auto" mode is selected, the machine
will select the appropriate gear.

When the machine powers up the mode selection always begins in the default mode (1F-Auto).

The bidirectional autoshift function allows selection from only the appropriate options in machine
configurations. These configurations include Maximum Gear Lockout and EAS mode lockouts.

For the best results, change the options with the transmission in NEUTRAL. If the autoshift functions
are not desired, the machine can be operated in the manual mode.
