Rural transportation

Rural transportation has immensely contributed to the pollution of the environment since

people prefer conducting their activities using their personal cars. However, there are several

proposals to this situation. The first proposal would include the introduction of commuter buses

to reduce the number of vehicles on the road. The advantage of this proposal is that the vehicles

will become fewer on the rods, therefore, reducing emissions. The challenge associated with this

proposal is that busses cannot access every place that people might want to go to. Thus despite

the number of personal vehicles being reduced, they will still be needed to go to places that

busses cannot access.

The second proposal would be the introduction of high-speed rail systems. High-speed

trains will make it possible for people in the countryside to reach urban centers and conduct their

activities there and later come back home. The main advantage will be that it would be more

comfortable and faster to travel. The challenge with this proposal is that a lot of capital

investment will be needed, and there are few activities in the countryside that might prompt the

government to invest heavily in a high-speed rail system.

In conclusion, proposing the introduction of a bus system is more viable. It is cheaper and

economical both for the people in the countryside and for the government. However, it might

not fully solve the issue of eliminating emissions from vehicles to the air polluting the

environment since they also emit and fail to access every part that a passenger might be willing

to go. Nonetheless, the situation will be much better with the introduction of commuter buses.
